i've finally decided my main complaint. the movie was pretty much about one thing: the triwizard tournament. it neglected alll the other things like S.P.E.W. and Fred & George's antics which were a big part of the book... Fred and George do get to have some fun this movie Fred and George also make a single reference to S.P.E.W. I still have to read the new book, but here I am thinking that I should read the old books as well. I want to... but I wonder if I'll ever find that sort of time...

yeah. some of it was good, but most of it was rushed and didn't serve the purpose :hmmm:

Yeah I was pretty pissed that they didn't have Fudge acting like a fool, that would've set up movie 5 well as it was meant to in the book. They also skipped way over the Crouch's

I can't believe you read the books out of order. You messed up the chronology if of it all.

Films of books seldom capture the true depth of it. LoTR worked because a lot of LoTR in print is totally and utterly irrelevant. When a book is long, and all of it is relevant, you can't do a film of it. Yet they try with HP, because money is shiny and the hollywood crows likes the shinies.

Why don't they just split long books into two movies? :miffed:

Why don't they just split long books into two movies? :miffed: because they want a good place to end, and because the book is already designed to end there, it becomes a natural choice.

Why don't they just split long books into two movies? :miffed: Then you would have to pay $18.00 to see the whole thing.
