ehm IE is just the normal explorer you run on your windows too...

with my mac i use safari most of the time and that has an auto pop-up block thing

Macs are only good because they pinched Linux technology.  As for a browser, I've told you before to use Camino.

I've widely heard Mozilla recommended over Safari on macs, I believe it was to to security and stability issues. Just another piece of crap that only a Mac lover could ever possibly use.... :hmmm:

Check Firefox out,  http://www.mozilla.org/  scroll down to technology preview and see firefox under this then click Mac OS X.  It should d/l it, then start it up and go to tools--options---web features tick the "for the originating website only" check box, this will block the ads, also Firefox automatically blocks pop-ups.

Edit: i just noticed you said you have OS 9, can OS X stuff run on that?

I notice the aforementioned spyware notice but I run spybot regularly so I don't worry about spyware.
