gee, i just realised that theres a ton of games in the works right now, all of them with a lot riding on it...doom III, Half-Life2, UT2k4, Deus Ex 2...but theres a couple that really caught my eye

Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

http://www.3do.com/4horsemen

i beg of you...go visit that site, the art, the ideas, the sheerly excellent trailer (and you will watch the trailer )...a coupla quotes from their site:

Quote
Motion capture is being done by the SmashCut Action Team, the people who worked on fight scenes from The Matrix and Fight Club.
Quote
With a budget of eight-million dollars, this is 3DO's most ambitious project to date and the publisher is bringing in the hordes of talent.
Quote
Perhaps the most interesting talent behind the game is renowned comic-book artist Simon Bisley, who is designing the game's characters. Bisley's work includes numerous Lobo, Judge Dredd, Batman, and Heavy Metal comics and covers.

WOW...i cannot wait for this to be released

--------------

Lineage II

http://www.lineage2.com/

not much i can say about this really, you have to check it out for yourself...maybe its the scores of original content (the developers aren't into cheap reskins of armour "a la Diablo2") ...maybe its the huge fanbase...could be the latest unreal tech engine rendering lush enviroments...might be the amazing anime influenced art...or it could be the actually half tallented developers

anyway, i'm definately looking forward to this game...problem is, i might not ever buy it Shocked ...depends on how well i'm able to afford the monthly bill (assuming, as a MMORPG it'll have a monthly bill)...i haven't gotten into MMO gaming before due to the problem...but this might just be worth it

--------------

comments? moments of enlightenment you wanna share with me?...

any of you guys looking forward to some hot games in the next few months?

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

Doom 3 - Crap.

UT2004 - Nothing special.

Half-Life 2 - Hopeful, still balancing on a knife edge though, could go either way.

Deus Ex 2 - Aint going to live up to their original hype, going to be shadowed by all these other new games, but still going to be good. Same way as the original.

Four Horsemen - a splash screen, an introduction, a loading page, and even then the useless website wouldn't load. I can't be arsed with all this waiting!

Lineage II - looks interesting, but nothing to convince me yet. Plenty of games have promised and not fulfilled, I'm not sure this one is any different to the rest.
We can hope though, along with hoping they don't charge expensive monthly fees.

But now for the real "One To Watch":
STALKER: Oblivion Lost - this game I have a great feeling about. Seems like it's gonna be a cross between Jagged Alliance 2, Soldier of Fortune II and Half-Life.
Really looking forward to SOL more than any other game (even DX2) at the moment. I just hope once it comes out it gets the recognisation it deserves.

Doom 3, UT2004, Half-Life 2, Deus Ex 2 were just examples of big name games...to be honest i may not even buy any of them

four horsemen wouldn't load for you?...damn...you don't know what you're missing  <_<
i got a mirror for the trailer, you can download it here: [scratch that, dosen't work]

anyway, be patient, and don't skip the intro...its actually a short game trailer

i've heard of STALKER: Oblivion Lost...and i just took a look around their site, but it seems in terms of scale, budget and backing, theres no way it can measure up to the Four Horsemen...saw the trailer too, and it looks like it'll turn out to be a classy game...though hardly a revolutionary one

yeah, that looks sweet...but i probably won't buy it...because if i'm going to play a MMO game...then it'll be lineageII alone, theres no way i'm footing two monthly bills

(unless the lineage team get stoned and decide not to do monthly bills)

No, I couldn't be arsed with all the splash screen crap.

First I get a title screen, then I get an introduction which sits on "SUMMONING" for far too long, until I give up and press SKIP INTRO, then I get a loading screen, then I get to click on the silly doors, then I eventually get the main site itself to begin loading, which itself takes two seconds too long to load and causes scrollbars on my 864pixel high screen!

I noticed on both my 512KB connection and my 10MB connection. Tongue

Anyhow, after all the hassle getting into the website, the game aint nothing special - or at least I don't think it will be, all there is at the moment is a load of pictures! Couldn't even see what type of game tis going to be! :miffed:

That site is poo. Just a lot of fancy graphics and Flash poo.

We don't even know if it'll be RPG, RTS, or something else
