no why should there be one, if you make a mistake in your search then you have to wait to correct it, just annoying, so im guessing it must hog a load of system resources

i think the search function on this forum is terrible I agree. i can never get it to work properly Me neither. why is it limited to 60 seconds a search? to deliberately irritate you to help prevent people from DoSing the server. |

LOL. Denial of service - repeated requests on the server that sap up bandwidth until the site goes down. Very evil - I've done it a couple times with a brute-forcer to bad people.
EDIT - SS, is the log-in brute-force proof? I know it's forms, which makes it a million times harder for newbie crackers, but with enough proxies and a continual wiping of cookies, could it be cracked?
