How can i get rid of Spyware And Adware?

I have a big problem, my Pc is about 4/5 slower because of Spyware and Adware, how i get it safely of my PC??
Help??
I have a past with some ASSHOLE programs that screwed my pc, i need something good

First, if you have a firewall then turn it on.
Second, download & install Ad-aware and Spybot, and then run them.
Third, if you still have spyware, restart into safe-mode and run Adaware and Spybot again, making sure you do all checks thoroughly.

That should get everything, or at very least most things.

Both - they each cover different types of spyware.

Should do yeah. Can't guarantee it, but I'd say it's highly probable.

Depends on the firewall, but generally no.
It definitely significantly reduces the chances of people being able to hack.

In what context? Generally rank is a way of measuring performance/experience/ or something, but it depends on the specific context.

You're a Newbie because you've only been here a little while. When you get to 25 posts  (so 4 more) then you become a Recruit.
At 100 is Trooper, 300 is Veteran, and after that there's various Dune-specific titles, until you get to 5000 posts for Emperor (or a custom title).

oh, and to make this on topic, i've ran both adaware and spybot but my computer is still acting like crap, especially when starting up and running searches, any ideas?

Have you got Spybot & Adware updated?
Also, do you have antivirus software installed? (If not get some, and run a check)
Make sure you've got a firewall active too... I like Kerio, though it can be a little confusing, but if you block everything you don't know what it is then you'll probably be okay.

yeah, i'm running AVG antivirus right now, so far it's found 15 thingies but it's taking a long time finding them <_<

Long time?? My Dads Norton takes 2/3 hours to fully scan a full 40gig HDD, AVG manages to do my 30Gig in around 5/10mins....

Apparently AVG is no longer as good as it was.
The knew in-thing with anti-virus is AntiVir.

Ripper, Norton + Speed = Mutually Exclusive.

meh, don't mind me, i have no clue what a long time is for this stuff, but it's currently on about 38gig and i think it's been somewhere between 30-40 minutes :/

EDIT:  it just finished, found 25 infected files, about 40 gig in about an hour.  meanwhile, i ran ad-aware and spybot, they both found a bunch of things as well
