Someone I know wants to bypass the filters for a "teen" account (or whatever it's called) on AOL Broadband.
Can you just run IE and use that, or is there a more complex way to do it (and if so what is it)?
Also, I think they mentioned a one-hour cutoff thing - is it possible to get round that too?
Thanks.

ah man, i havnt used aol in like 8 years, but ill see what i know.
more often than not, aol has almost only the direct approach. in other words, you have to either wait for an admin to leave their account unattended, or find their password.  Then you can make all necessary changes, as well as log several gigs worth of porn on their history/documents section.

that teen setting such a pain in the ass but IE tottally gets around it so it doesnt really matter.  the easiest way to get around it is to just stop using aol.

still working on the time cut-off stuff.  I reset my computer clock two hours slow to see if it would affect it and it didnt yesterday but it may be working now because I havent been kicked off yet(was supposed to get kicked 7 minutes ago) and my dad hasnt been online to change it. not sure though.

thats all well and good but it can be ages before they leave their accounts unattended

also, i know this works for getting around the blocker at my school.
some blockers, if you use microsoft word, enter the link there, and then follow the link from word, it will bypass the filters.

eh, we found a much more fun way to bypass the filters at my school--a beautiful thing called vnc. we typed in my friends ip address and remote controlled his computer (we being me and that same friend). the school only registered that one ip being displayed, as all the surfing was done on my friends compy. very nice.  Smiley

Cool, so simply using IE should get round the filters, and messing with system time manages to break the timeout limit?

i spent the weekend on my GP's computer so i had AOL running on one XP profile and IE running on mine, works fine great for keeping history away iswell because generally AOL users are oblivious to IE on there systems
