the UT2k4 demo came out yesterday...
sorry i'm a little late on this, but i had other issues...
anyway, who's played? thoughts? flames?
supposedly its a fusion of old and new, the style of UT2k3 with the non cluttered, streamlined gameplay of the original...

Yes, I've played it, and it's FUCKING EXCELLENT!I hadn't read anywhere that called it a fusion of old & new, but it is entirely correct to say that. U2003 lost something which made UT special. UT2004 seems to have it back again. If only I had a nice fast processor to take proper advantage of the super engine.  |

Back to UT2004: Anyone tried the vehicles yet?
I didn't try all the maps, but none of the ones I played had controllable vehicles.
Does the demo have vehicles or not?

yahoo servers seem to be the fastest to download off...

I got it from GamesNET which wasn't great, but not bad either.
Never used a Yahoo! server for anything. Where are they located?

not a clue...
all the other servers are jam packed...and thats quite a queue there on Fileplanet :huh:
just played 2-3 hours of UT2k4 (kinda lost track of time)...1.5 hours of onslaught, three rounds
the vehicles handle amazingly...i love it, it hasn't lost any of the Unreal gameplay, even though the map can be huge the nodes concentrate the action to one portion of the map...it plays really tight...
deathmatch is like the original Unreal again...very cool and capture the flag also...it seems that nothing's changed, but when you play it you feel that everything's changed...odd...

Master server was down twice when I tried it. The Raptor is cool... only just realised you can press space (jump) and fly up... was wondering how the computer got so high! The Scorpian alt-attack is cool too.  You managed to do any Daredevil stuff yet? I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing to get them. |

In the vehicles. I think it's some kind of stunt system, but I'm not entirely sure.
