*Starts crying about OS`

What are the advantages/disadvantages of XP over 98
I don’t want to hear any canned answers like, “it’s runs better” because ‘better’ is not defined!!!
What are some helpful (performance and such) or cool tips for XP

Let me change the OS then,
What are the advantages/disadvantages of 98SE over 98?
I want memory management…it pisses me off that I would have to buy more RAM because the piece of shit OS can’t take care of such (I would assume) a fishing simple thing

Sorry, I’m not happy about all this ATM

well XP has a cute little program that runs in the backgroud that monitors how much you use programs, and the programs you use most it puts on the inside of the platter of your hard drive, so the read/write times are less when you are looking for the information

definite plus is you have the ram to have all the background programs like that running

but biteme...Win98 does that  Sad (Perhaps in a different way, but hard drives are so fast, it hardly seems relevant for it to take place at all)

They want it to sound as good as possibly with the least amount of work, like actually having an OS that fishing works correctly. *grumble grumble* <_<

I think the problem here is that I really don’t know what I’m looking for.  This is just a case of ‘darn of I do, darn if I don’t’.  I’ve re-resolved to load XP so I can work with it first hand, and with the premise that when all things go to Microsoft hell, I can just format my computer and loading 98 again (hopefully 98SE if I can find that damn CD)

My computer magazine (computer gaming world) and my local newspaper (The Mercury) both have sections for answering XP problems (and yes, some of them are stupid questions, but most are worthy issues)
PS. Shadow, is your avi flip’n a pair of birds?

XP loaded
it seemed to find all my hardware (not my printer, but owell)... though the actual drivers work a bit better.  The only thing that didn't run was my IPS dial up program (95/98 only), that was a bit of a pain.  It was my own falt for not checking it out before formatting.
note to self: always - ALWAYS install virus scan software before logging onto the internet.  that was... interesting <_<  it's not good, I don't think, that I know how to get around regedit so well

comments on Windows XP:
>I don’t like the new Search thingy XP has to find files/folders, I like the 98 version better.
>And I’m not sure if I like the defragmenter…it’s just odd.  I miss watching the little cluster boxes being moved which way and what not :hehe: .  Oh, and does XP auto arrange programs? Cuz I can’t find the option to turn it on/off, I could in 98…maybe I'm just blind

My WinXP sucks balls. All but two games are online ones for default. What about people without internet, which happens to me alot? I've used up 22.9 GB so far. It errors when I open it, it freezes when I can, its buggy, and its a ho. Stay away.

Windows XP is fine. Just because your computer is screwed up doesn't mean Windows is to blame. Tongue
