I intend to start a new character anyway, because I don't really know whats good and bad, I've been playing with all the weapons and stuff.

Best class for a newb is Fighter - loads of HP, no spells to juggle, lots of feats so you can kick arse in Hand to hand, not many skill points to assign.
Worst class for a Newb is a Cleric (Im one so we wont be needing another anyways) - the first spells you get suck majorly and you cant stand up in a fight.

Hmmm, I was thinking of being an archer, seeing as I really wanted to be one in DungeonSiege, but they were so under-powered it made it very difficult, they are supposed to be properly balanced in Neverwinter, yes?

Um... Not really, unless you count Improved Two Weapon Fighting, but that involves using two weapons and having Ambidexterity and Two Weapon Fighting....

If you log in to Avlis (Mikona), make a char, then export it to your local vault, you can play with the char you'll be playing on Avlis as.
