Biscuit = A HARD flour-based food, that goes soft over time. Flapjack = A bisuit made from rolled oats. Cookie = A biscuit with chunks of chocolate. Cracker = A savoury biscuit.
Cake = A SOFT flour-based food, that goes hard over time. Pancake = A cake made in a pan, using batter. Scone = A cake made out of bread. Rock Cake = A cake with a hard shell.
Anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

in different areas, we call them different things. Being different doesn't make you right. If I go to the US and want a real flapjack (see images), what do I ask for?

If I go to the US and want a real flapjack, what do I ask for? sorry dude, I don’t know... but you might find it at specialty store... of some sort... For instance, you can’t get some kinds of candy in normal stores; you’d have to go to a ‘chocolate factory’... I can't think of what my Dad was looking for... but that's where he had to go to get it
