A few weeks ago I got myself a camera (a Nikon D70 for anyone interested), and have finally got round to putting some of the photographs I've been taking into a gallery.
Which you can access here.

Feel free to comment on the pictures, or my camera, or photography in general.

It’s not like I’m being bias or anything… (ya I am)
But I like the cat.
If I was to post pictures of the surroundings here…you’d see dark golden rolling foothills with sparse dark green clusters. [/use of poetic license]

I also like the cat, since it was moving quite fast and I still managed to snap it without any blurring.

The pictures in the photo are mostly around Dover & Hythe (where my family live).
I'm actually in Croydon which is a large town just south of London, and thus no where near as green. Sad
Though there are several nice parks and green areas in and around the area, and I'll be going out and taking some pictures of them at the weekend.

mole: why do you have both - isn't the D50 just a cut-down version of the D70?

Thanks. Smiley

Just let me know which one you want, then I'll upload it and give you the URL. Smiley
Oh and say if you want NEF, JPEG, or other format.

Hey Chris, cause your Dad works at Nikon, can we get cheap Digicams off you? Cause we need one.

I have to say I like the crow one.  Spot the minimalist.

And if there's cheap cameras in the offing, chalk me up for one; mine was neutered in a powersurge.

Hehe... the cat one is really cute, but IMO the titles and captions on the photos are the best part of the gallery!  Cheesy

Me too - I've currently got it as my desktop background.
I especially like it because it wasn't a planned shot - I was going for another bird on a fence below but it flew away before I could get a good shot, then I looked up, spotted the crow and immediately snapped it.

 Are you insulting my photos or complimenting my wit?

...then I looked up, spotted the crow and immediately snapped it.

I particularly like the way you've caught the wings fully extended; you can clearly see the pinions.  As a small diversion from the Engine, I've extracted the crow from that and vectorized it; it would make a good emblem for a flag.  (Then again, I've also made a version where the background is blood-red, strewn with lightning bolts and flames, and the crow has a demonically glowing red eye.  Original it isn't, but ye gods it's effective. (And neatly illustrates what happens when I get carried away))

I've just had an idea...  Could I have a high-res version?  Jpg by preference, although I can use just about anything (except WBMP).  Many pre-emptive thanks.
