 man he looks really weird he's Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger of Germany and he chose the name Benedict XVI oh yeah he's also against feminism, married priests, seperation of church and state, apparently screwed over(excuse the pun) many of the priest abuse victims, and there's a rumor he was in the Hitler Youth(although unwillingly) [sarcasm]great choice huh?[/sarcasm] |

Well, he's a big conservative and we'll probably be in conclave again within the next ten years, so i'm not too worried at this point...
though you're right, not very papal looking, but thats just because Jonh Paul II is definitely one of the greats and it will be hard to replace him so nobody would feel right it seems. It'll just take time, god bless benedict XVI :rolleyes:

im sure he was an extra in some horror b-movie seems to remind me of an evil gremlin. there's a rumor he was in the Hitler Youth no he WAS in the hitler youth, hes also a deserter frankly i can put most of his policies down to 1 word "celibate" |

we'll probably be in conclave again within the next ten years I give it 5.  Mah, he's a scary choice. Oh, on a side note, Archbishop Iakovos also recently passed away, and if I had been here earlier in the week, I'd have mentioned it then. Sad how the pope gets all the attention.  |

yeah, this guy does look kind of creepy(doesn't help that his teeth are that colour)
And the hitler youth thing was mandatory at the time. give the creepy guy a break, it's hard to come after somone who looked like an aging teddy bear
