I've read At Risk, Ender's Game, Mythology, Romeo and Juliet, The Chocolate War, The Woman Warrior, Lord of the Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird, Julius Caesar, A Raisin in the Sun, The Grapes of Wrath, The Odyssey and probably some other stuff that I don't remember.

This year we read The Scarlet Letter and will be reading The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye, and some other book, which I can't remember at the moment.  A lot of the books that I listed are banned in places because people are so damn sensitive.

Smi: I meant that as "what *have* you read?"

Romeo and Juliet
To Kill a Mocking Bird
Catcher in the Rye

I can’t remember the title of the book.  It was about a US nuclear submarine that had gone to Australia because they had lost all communications with the US.  The whole book was about the captain and the nuclear war that was started.

The Giver (I’d like to suggest this book, it’s just something to think about)
Huckleberry Finn
The Scarlet Letter
The Crucible

I can’t come up with any more, sorry, maybe later.

[edit] Lord of the Flies

Meh, it wasn't too bad.  It is funny to think how much the boys devolved in the span of a few weeks.  Boys will be boys...  LOL

I hated the ending to that.  It was too coincidental that they were found right when they were about to kill Ralph...

I suggest The Scarlet Letter as the shittest book I've ever read.

It was a good movie though, and I kinda like Hawthorne.  Smiley

My teacher said it was a horrible adaptation since the movie actually shows the affair.  I haven't seen the movie, but I'd rather not.

think you're talking about a different movie of The Scarlet Letter (if there is one, probably) I don't remember anything about them actually showing anything like that...
