[rant]eeew shit movie.  saw that with my dad and it was just bad.  could have been good but no they screwed it up.  vampires cant fucking go outside during the day.  come on people everyone knows it you cant go and  change these rules  whenever you feel like it. and warewolves are wolfy during the full moon, doesnt matter if clouds cover the moon up they are still wolfy.  best thing about that movie was when dracula does the shocker but that isnt worth $7 [/rant]

Actually, the vampires in sunlight thing? Optional. It all depends on the form of literature and how you want to present it. My favorite vampire thing was The Last Vampire books, in which the female character, a vampire, could walk in daylight. It made her a bit tired, but she could live in daylight.

And then there are some werewolves that don't go were during the full moon. Some go were when they get over emotional. Some can go were at desire. Some the half moon, some no moon. But I do agree about the clouds, unless that movie wanted to go along with the thing that the full light of the full moon was needed to fuel the transformation from human to lumbering beast.
