Others? Ripper, perhaps? You need only know the first book, to begin at least.

Why on earth does this topic appear in most of the forums?

Not most of them, just... uh, most of them. Tongue

Promotion is why - to make sure anyone interested can know about it.. I'm not sure if everyone checks the RP forum.

the book series sound interesting.
but i'm finding a bit of too much similarities between the LotR series... (the whole concept of holy'ish artifacts being the key for the victory of either the light/good side and the dark/evil side, for one, but then again that's in many fantasy/scifi'ish books...)
not that i've read the WoT series tho.

WoT is nothing like LotR. It has some similar things, but, like you said, most/all fantasy/sci-fi things have similarities.

You might as well give the first book a try - everyone else here that has tried it has liked it. Cheesy
