4  BPSITE / Arts & Literature / Currently I am reading on: June 16, 2003, 09:45:07 AM
ahh, harry potter 5 nearly out in australia, cant wait.  some reason i just love those books.

anywho...just finished the Farseer Trilogy again, cos i love those books.  i dunno...the world its set in aint that great, the ideas on magic and everything aint that brilliant, but some of the characters...christ i love em
if u dont know what im talking about, (which i doubt many of u do) go read Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb.

also, just before that but just after i re-read WoT, i read all of the Raymond E. Fiest books, which i liked up to a point, he sorta got shitty halfway into the Serpentwar Saga, and the Krondor ones arent that great either.  But anywho...Magician (the first one, revised edition or original) fkn rocked complete and utter arse, one of the best books in history.

6  BPSITE / Arts & Literature / photoshop pictures on: June 03, 2003, 09:06:37 AM
mmm, agreed koku.  i don't know wat SS is going on about, but photoshop kicks arse.  the amount of shit you can do with the recent upgrades of photoshop is amazing.   i spend half my days on that program, (mostly editing photos and doing graphics).  then again, i haven't really worked out everything u can do with it, my brother knows every in and out of photoshop, so i'll ask him what he thinks, but i'm quite sure he'd agree that psp doesn't even come close to comparing SS.
7  BPSITE / Games and Gaming / If...? on: May 26, 2003, 10:42:28 PM
::Some Specific Things::
1. More weapons, more things to do with money.

2. More sense to some of the key mathmatical rules. eg. why does an army of 200 with a shit attack/defence tend to kill about 50 men of an army of 1000??  just cos they are attacking someone much higher than them they shouldnt kill a lot of men, they should get slaughtered completely and utterly ffs!

3. Only one weapon per man.  (eg. make it much better to spend ur money, especially near start) plus of course u should include stuff like pillaging enemy's weapons if u win a battle, and losing weapons if u lose men.

:::Some Unspecific Things::
4.  Umm...its hard to explain, but there should be something built into the game that incorporates alliances/clans/guilds.  (whatever u want to call them) sort of like a team thingy.  i dunno exactly how it would work, maybe an invite and accept thingy, but however u did it there should be the ability to send messages to these people who have "accepted" and u would not...and i mean would not! be able to attack them, unless u left the group.  i guess there would also have to be leaders, otherwise people u invite would just keep inviting, so on and so forth.  so if leader leaves maybe he could have option of passing leadership on or closing whole group.

anywho...i can't think of other stuff right now, but i'm sure i will.
that's just my thoughts...
8  BPSITE / Geek's Corner / CD Burning on: May 26, 2003, 11:16:43 AM
mmm, well, my brother and me are using some encoder program we downloaded to turn proper DVD's (eg. hired ones) into two .avi files about 700mb each, so we're turning full length dvd quality movies into 2 CD's worth.  its goodly :P

umm...sleep? well, i know its not funny. im really sorry guys, but everythingz been happening lately, maybe i should pull out and Romav should just go home, not sure.  i shouldnt miss another one, but i can't be sure.  pretty much what happened was i had a friend who...well, they been having some trouble, and they called me up and asked me over, so i went.  it was about 10:30 when they called, and i ended up sleeping there, im very sorry.

its just too much shit on right now, stuff keeps happening whenever im sposed to be playing.  up to you auron, i shouldnt miss another one, but considering how much ive missed...im not sure.

12  BPSITE / Games and Gaming / Rise of Nations on: May 25, 2003, 09:26:17 AM
fuk, total war medieval was really awsome, dont hass it SS!  the original was crap, shoguns or watever it was called, but medieval really mastered the whole mass battle system.  the campaign is shocking, and they really need to clean up the entire game properly, cos its really dodgy, but the basic ideas and gameplay are really good.

i havent played rise of nations yet, but im going to get it soon.  im actually more amped for the next total war, called like...total war Rome i think.  looks pretty good, and has gotten very good reviews, cos the mass battles run even better now, even though the armies are bigger.  i think i just like the idea of actually having "reasonable" army sizes, and still being able to see every  single unit as an actual person, its goodly.  plus, some of the gameplay things just rock, eg. all the hill fighting, some of the siege weapons and the surrender system is very good too.  its good to have a game with real moral, eg. u dont have 100% control over your army, your more of just a general, less God.

anywho, thats just my two cents, i still havent played rise of nations.
13  BPSITE / Games and Gaming / Heroquest on: May 25, 2003, 09:21:51 AM
lol, never played the amiga game, though i loved my amiga.  in my short 15 years ive bought 3 copies of the original board game, so now i have 2 or 3 times as many bad guys, cards and characters as i should have.  its just i broke both my Gargoyle's, so i had to buy another game :P  hehehee, i loved it, i can still remember every single map perfectly, and all the little secrets and ways to go.  anywho...

what was the amiga game like?  was it like dungeon master, cos that game rocked complete arse, it was soooo good.
14  ROLEPLAYING / Roleplaying Discussion / Times and Dates on: May 25, 2003, 09:16:07 AM

15  BPSITE / Arts & Literature / Wheel of Time on: May 24, 2003, 12:50:46 AM
I've read all 10, and i doubt the 11th one is coming out anytime soon, since the tength one only came out about 6 months ago and he will take a year and a half to write it.  they're awsome, but i grow tired of complimenting them every week....so....they're cool, and that's all i'm going to say.
