meh, i haven't seen the movie and im keepin it that way. it looks like crap. i don't think a single good horror movie has come out of hollywood in years. the last movie i saw that actually creeped me out was made in the 70s.

my rents work at a college that has only started to buy a few pcs in the past few years. I was raised on macs, saw the light, and switched. haven't touched a mac unless absolutely necessary in 6 or 7 years.  Smiley I must admit, however, they do make great paperweights.  Wink

if its only psychological, then my mind is strong enough to make my watch tick faster. I timed it before and after. And if my mind is that strong, then I can _certainly_ tinker with the world to make myself and evil right and you wrong =P

and maybe I can't beat that drive yet.....but I will. I plan to get dual sata 120gbs raided together.  in the meantime, chew on my friends comp-- 3 wd1200jbs.  And he manages to use quite a good chunk of it.

on another note--I happen to like evils avi. its cool. you're just mad cause it dances better than you Cheesy

I'm running XP pro on an NTFS Western Digital WD600BB, but defragging semi-regularly makes a very noticable difference in performance. You can't argue with results  Cheesy

Defrags are a waste of time
Shocked I beg to differ. Keeping your disk defraged SIGNIFICANTLY reduces load times for files and programs. Not something I would do every day or anything, but weekly-monthly depending on how much has changed. If you rarely download or install stuff, then it's not worth it. But I download/install all sorts of things quite regularly. Case in point: The first time I defragged it made as much as 1 minute difference in load time for some progs, and my computer booted significantly quicker as well.

Eagles - Dirty Laundry

I make my living off the evening news
Just give me something, something I can use
People love it when you lose, they love dirty laundry

Well, I could've been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I don't have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear, give us dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em all around

We got the bubbleheaded bleach-blonde, comes on at 5
She can tell you about the plane crash with a gleam in her eye
It's interesting when people die, give us dirty laundry

Can we film the operation?  Is the head dead yet?
You know the boys in the newsroom got a running bet
Get the widow on the set, we need dirty laundry

You don't really need to find out what's going on
You don't really want to know just how far it's gone
Just leave well enough alone, keep your dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're stiff, kick 'em all around

Dirty little secrets, dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybody's pie
Love to cut you down to size, we love dirty laundry

We can do the innuendo, we can dance and sing
When it's said and done, we haven't told you a thing
We all know that crap is king, give us dirty laundry

my friend got that virus on both his computers. after running the removal tool about 15 times unsuccessfully, he unchecked the startup item for the virus, and it then proceeded to kill itself and didnt show any signs until he got it again from the same guy on his local network who he got it from in the first place.  :hmmm:

I don't really like SC all that much. I've played it a ton, and got pretty decent, but all I do now is the occasional mod map at LAN parties. On the rare occasion that I'm not playing some mod map, I play Toss--a nice fleet of Carriers can really school the opponents.
