SS, I don't think I'll be flying, though I could probably be a transport pilot if I wanted to. If you want to be a fight pilot you have to enlist for at least 8 years, because of all the money they have to spend to train you.

The airforce is the most technically minded of all the services, and I'm more likely to find something that I'll enjoy there; My next best bet would have been the Army, since I would never join the Navy.
Also, US air superiority kicks untold amounts of ass.

It occurs to me that I have not come by lately, mainly because my hard drive melted a month ago and I've been too lazy to track to forums down. : P Anyways, just thought I'd fill you in on what's been happening in my life, since you won't be hearing from me for a good year or so by this summer.
Basically, I'm signing on the dotted line and enlisting in the USAF on the 16th this month; I'm hoping I'll ship out to basic no earlier than mid-july, but you never know how that works.
Anyways, I just wanted to tell you guys that because I've known some of you for.....probably almost four or five years. And though I never met any of you in real life, a lot of you helped me through a lot of crap and were some of my only friends when I was dealing with my parent's divorce and had to learn to grow up fast.
So I just wanna say, thanks for everything, and I'll try to stop in and let you know how I'm doing when I get out of technical training school.

keeping your tires on the ride would be a good thing when driving that's why I like my huge ProComp tires. They've got treads around an inch and a half thick, so hydroplaning takes some serious work.

The important thing is to remember that we play the arrogant americans and just rant about how we bailed them out in WW2, and to NEVER EVER think about what they do for our economy.

Wow, I could have sworn you were older than that. And lucky you and being able to walk. School is 17 miles away for me, and the grocery store is 5. Unless you live in the city you pretty much have to have your own car or carpool if you're in the US

Well, I haven't passed my test. Well SS, how old are you / how old do you have to be to take the test in Britain? Over here, pretty much every kid is scrambling to get their license as soon as they turn 16.
