Title: Neverwinter
Post by: Rug on February 01, 2004, 07:15:29 PM
A few questions:

Who here plays Neverwinter Nights?

And If you play, would you be willing to get together with the rest of us to RP a little, maybe swat a few monsters?

Would any competant DMs (pref with knowledge of the NWN DMClient) be willing to run a few sessions, maybe even a full blown campaign through Neverwinter?

If people are interested, we can work out other details later.

I would like to do that since I've never tried multiplayer on NWN before.  The only problems are that timing may be difficult because of the timezone differences and the fact that I've been pretty busy lately.  Also, my computer is pretty slow and I don't know how well it would handle multiplayer.  When I play single player sometimes there's even lag when I have the sound disabled.  I'm likely getting a new computer before college and I'll have a lot more free time in the summer, so if we can't work anything out with me now we can try again in July.

What graphics card do you have. #1 Source of lag on NWN is a Card that isnt a GeForce. This problem can be solved with cracked drivers if you're using an ATi Radeon (Like myself), but I'd have to find them for you again.

I really want to, but I really don't think this computer can take it...
GeForce2 MX 400, 256 Mb of RAM, 1.3 MHz AMD
and I have been thinking of making a game using the tool set.  If I make it, I'll send it if you want. (I hope school doen't get in the way  )

Pah, just put all the graphics settings to minimum and it should be okay? I've ran it on a D600, 512MB, GF2MX.

Yes id like to join, wouldnt mind DMing as ive gotten pretty good at PnP DMing, just not quite 100% sure how good I am with the NWN Dm thing as they are very different.

I'll give you some practice at DMing later. I'm willing to be experimented on.

No I do have a Geforce...just a very old one as my computer as a whole is 4 years old.  All my graphic settings are as low as they go and sound is already disabled entirely.  With all that it runs well enough I guess.  I'll probably end up just sticking with single player for now.  Multiple PCs might blow my computer up.

was it 3 cds? or 4?
bah, in either case i think i only have 2 iso's...

Are you running with no texture packs? (Compat mode... Should run fine on a bottom-spec PC with min graphics and no texture pack...)

Yeah it would probably run fine.  I'm just making excuses for myself because I really want to play and just can't find the time to.  LOL

Still, nice to see I'm that important, and hopefully I'll get the three things holding me up done this week... or at least enough done that I can relax.
