Title: Stale Topics Post by: Thamior on September 18, 2003, 12:23:29 AM Oh man, I've been using this message board for about 6 or 7 days now and the topics are already getting stale for me. I don't know what else to post. I was just wondering if anyone else was in the same boat as me, waiting for acceptance. Don't be shy. Talk to me. Tell me a little about yourself. :sheep:
Title: Stale Topics Post by: Filran on September 18, 2003, 12:30:21 AM Try going to the headquarters. Plenty of new conversation there.
Title: Stale Topics Post by: Lord Lanair on September 18, 2003, 12:31:37 AM You can learn how to spam there, too! I'll teach you! :D
Title: Stale Topics Post by: Thamior on September 18, 2003, 12:35:02 AM Thanks guys but I think I'll have to decline. I only intended on posting on the message boards for TGA. I want to stay active on the boards, not live on them. And I'm afraid that that's what would happen if I started looking around all the other boards. I left a message in the new members thread about my status with the alliance and I hope to hear back from there soon. Then I can check out the posts in the TGA exclusive boards. Thanks for the offer though, spamming does seem like a lot of fun. I was wondering how some people can have like 400 posts. LOL
Title: Stale Topics Post by: Lord Lanair on September 18, 2003, 12:37:42 AM Or more...
It involves the special skill of being able to get about 60 posts in a 1 hr period. ;) And there's nothing wrong with living on the forum... nothing seriously bad happes to us... Title: Stale Topics Post by: Saladin on September 18, 2003, 01:05:27 AM except for the minor fact that they probably don't have social lives LOL
Title: Stale Topics Post by: evilknight on September 18, 2003, 01:12:04 AM Hey, I have a social life!
it's just that, the closest person that i socialize with live in vermont. it's called long distance socialization. Title: Stale Topics Post by: Lord Lanair on September 18, 2003, 01:17:22 AM Hmmm... What's wrong with typing at a computer and getting responses back from it? It's the new form of socialization for today's society. :D
Title: Stale Topics Post by: Sir Commander on September 18, 2003, 01:30:35 AM Yes I live (almost) on the message boards and I have a social life!
PS spamming = supercool! Title: Stale Topics Post by: Arkanor on September 18, 2003, 01:49:43 AM LOL... but don't let Auron hear you...
Seriously, the topics aren't stale, it's just there's nothing topic-worthy. By the same token, you can only get out of the army if you're crazy, but if you want to leave the army, then you're sane. Catch-22... gotta love it. Title: Stale Topics Post by: cmdrelrond on September 18, 2003, 02:27:01 AM you can't live in these forums I've actually noticed my social life going down a notch for a while when I got really into this takes to much time I suggest to at least half the guys in here to get a g/f and go outside every now and then I sometimes get caught up here and spend a whole day online but I always remember to live in the real world and be active with my friends and go out on the weekends and stuff and I see my g/f whenever I can
we all need casual sex my friends.......::cough::auron,auron::cough:: :P Title: Stale Topics Post by: Lord Lanair on September 18, 2003, 02:36:15 AM Don't even get started with Auron and casual sex!
And I have no need for a social life if I can spend the time instead on my computer. :hehe: Title: Stale Topics Post by: Galmort on September 18, 2003, 04:06:25 AM Quote Hmmm... What's wrong with typing at a computer and getting responses back from it? It's the new form of socialization for today's society. :D I completely agree ;) Even though i can never possibly stay on the comp too long cuz everyone else in the family wants it too. So I am outside a lot more than i am on the computer. Title: Stale Topics Post by: Sir Commander on September 18, 2003, 04:20:46 AM Quote ... but don't let Auron hear you... dont worry I only do it in the spam thread.Title: Stale Topics Post by: smi256 on September 18, 2003, 07:05:40 AM It very much is important to have a social life, but that isn’t to say that you should be on the computer. The computer may be spiting responses back at you, but there is another person on the line, like being on the telephone; but you’ll have to admit, some don’t always act the same online, and chances are that people in the real world can be far more fun then those on the net. Though it can go the other way around, but once you find them, you may not want to give them up.

Title: Stale Topics Post by: GandalfTheOld on September 18, 2003, 03:08:14 PM Social life? You don't NEED no social life, soldier!
This is a war, not some chit-chat gossiping corner! .... [/end stupidity] It's hard to have much of a social life if you're commuting to college through bus that takes 2hrs one-way... Yes, I could drive, but I don't have insurance... (livin in the highest insurance rate state in the nation sure hurts) Who needs life! You're never gonna get it. Who needs life! Tell me what's that for. Who needs life! There's a guy who hasn't had one since the second world war... I think it would uh bring us closer as an alliance and make things more personel and close with us so that we may function better as a society

It was pretty good.I'm 17 years old, and I also feel that the computer, as fun as it could be at times, is dangerous when people get addicted. I wouldn't say that talking on the message boards is being social, but people can think what they want. :sheep: Title: Stale Topics Post by: Attackus on September 19, 2003, 11:57:44 PM Yeah, you really shouldn't be spending your whole life on a forum...:P
The way I think about it, your life is determined by what you do in REAL LIFE, not what you do in the world of the Internet...whatever happens here is good and all...but except for very special exceptions, few get their life defined by online activities. What you do in the real world is who you are...and we need to make sure we make the most of our time...since we don't know how much we have of it. As for me, you can probably notice I don't spend a LOT of time on here...I have other stuff to do. Sure, I'm committed to TGA. Sure, I click the links every day. But, I also have lots more important stuff to do...:D -A Title: Stale Topics Post by: evilknight on September 20, 2003, 01:59:01 AM Quote Yeah, you really shouldn't be spending your whole life on a forum...:P bah, u can define your life through what u do on the internet. The way I think about it, your life is determined by what you do in REAL LIFE, not what you do in the world of the Internet...whatever happens here is good and all...but except for very special exceptions, few get their life defined by online activities. Title: Stale Topics Post by: GandalfTheOld on September 20, 2003, 02:57:30 AM Filran: used to be a fan, liked their songs.
Too bad I haven't heard much of them lately. I have the cd "Stunt" that has that song as well as "One Week" :D Love their crazy lyrics :D I didn't think there would be other people that realized those lyrics :o Title: Stale Topics Post by: Filran on September 20, 2003, 02:59:20 AM Bah. Stunt isn't the best. I have Gordon, and All Their Greatest Hits. I'm getting Maybe You Should Drive next.
My sig is actually part of one of thier songs, Brian Wilson, which is their most recorded, and possibly most loved song. If you go to the "A Taste Of What You Are Listening To" thread, you'll see ALOT of Barenaked Ladies songs there from me. I recomend getting Greatest Hits, and Gordon. Very, very nice songs on them. Plus, you are talking to the biggest Barenaked Ladies fan on this board. ;) Believe me, I got depressed when Kevin was diagnosed with luekemia. Or, I think it was that. Its been a few years. XD Title: Stale Topics Post by: Thamior on September 20, 2003, 03:29:36 PM I PMed SS last Thursday about getting my password to the Fortress now that I've been accepted into TGA, and I haven't heard back yet. Until I do, I don't think I'll be very active on the threads. Talk to you guys later. I just can't think of anything else relevent to say about these topics.
Title: Stale Topics Post by: GandalfTheOld on September 20, 2003, 04:01:57 PM um, Thamior: go to www.koctga.tk , and go to the members section, not forums, log in there, and you'll find your way to the pw.
don't pm SS when you can get it yourself ;) Title: Stale Topics Post by: Thamior on September 20, 2003, 04:43:28 PM I have no idea what's going on. When I try to login through there, all I get is a page that has this:
Quote TGA MEMBERS I PMed Auron about the matter and he PMed me back telling me to PM SS and ask him to do something that he (Auron) wasn't able to do. I'm just confused as hell right now. The Great Alliance has many members, listed below you can find the most recently active alliance members. Title: Stale Topics Post by: Filran on September 20, 2003, 04:47:04 PM SS is currently vacationing though. Damn you SS.

I have nothing more to say until you assure me you are... Title: Stale Topics Post by: Thamior on September 20, 2003, 04:49:02 PM Do you have any idea what it is he has to do to get me to be able to access the Fortress? I just hope that it's not me being stupid, and I'm truly not able to access it until he does something technologically advanced and important. :paranoid:
How would I go about checking that? I'm pretty sure that I'm not blocking any cookies because I've never had a cookie problem in the past with any websites.
