downloading mirc go to : http://www.packetnews.com/index.php?chanid=227162 (http://www.packetnews.com/index.php?chanid=227162) once there, go down to where it says |xTc|-S-|002| and find the halo beta. After u find it click the linked number next to the halo beta. NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE mIRC OPEN WHEN YOU CLICK THE PACKET # You will need to register in order to download, so type: /msg nickserv register password email (where password is you desired pw and email is your email address) NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE DCC TRANSFER'S ENABLED TO DO THIS HIT alt + o on the bar to the left go to DCC --> folders click the down arrow under the DCC ingore and disable it finally, hit Ctrl+v (when u clicked the link it coppied a command into your clipboard) click ok when a box pops up and then click accept CONGRATULATIONS! You are now downloading the halo beta After downloading, right click the halo beta .iso and extract it using winzip or winrar Then install It will ask for the cd to be in the tray, so you will need an extra program called daemon tools (a cd-drive emulator) Go back to the wedsite where u clicked the numer and find the number corresponding to daemon tools and click it. After DL'ing Daemon tools, install it. After instaling, you will see it in your windows task bar(next to the clock) right click it choose virtual cd/dvd then click the Device 0 option. locate the halo beta iso, and click open NOW YOU CAN PLAY HALO SINGLE PLAYER!!!! NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ANTI-ALIASING OFF ON YOUR VID CARD IF YOU WANT TO PLAY MULTIPLAYER GO HERE AND DL HALO SERV: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=99947 (http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=99947) Install it, open it, click "get list", then find an active server. NOTE: you can have halo open or closed when u join a server VIOALA!!! NOW YOU CAN PLAY HALO MUTLIPLAYER There are some glitches in the game, so don't be scared off by them. *rant* it sucks even more to have to go from a 300k cable modem to a 56k dial up modem! dear jesus it sucks ass! and all because my parents cant pay 15 more dollars a month, plus because i was making a D in math. but they cant use that excuse much longer. i just got a 100 on my last math test, plus im getting a job soon, which will be more than enough to cover the modem. however, i have to take the expenses of cd's, gas, and insurance into account. (does math). ok, with what ill probly be geting paid, ill have about 5 dollars a month to spend on what i want. :blink: ........ YAY! five whole dollars! Title: HALO PC BETA!!!!!!!!!!!
