Title: CD Burning Post by: Perdition on May 01, 2003, 06:01:54 PM I'm curious what do you guys do for CD burning??? I was thinking about downloading Kaza(or however it's spelled) But the whole Idea of peeps being able to search through my computer, makes me feel uneasy.
Title: CD Burning Post by: SS on May 01, 2003, 06:27:19 PM Kazaa is evil. Well, the people who use it are anyhow.
I burn using Nero, which is generally accepted as the best software and costs the same as a standard game I believe. Title: CD Burning Post by: Perdition on May 01, 2003, 07:01:49 PM hmmm i'l have to look into that. Thanx ;)

Title: CD Burning Post by: Shadow Hawk on May 02, 2003, 12:47:57 AM Kazaa isnt evil, its the new age of sharing software. You can choose whether or not to share anything, for instance my mates dont share anything and they download about a gig a day. I share all my buffy/angel episodes, but nothing else. It's a great program, and besides all the porn that goes around, it does actually have nearly everything you want.
I don't really see how it relates to CD burning though?? I use Nero as well, when we first got a burner and we were one of the "noble few" for a few months, I sold burnt games at school for $20 (aussie dollars). that was a good time...then everyone started getting burners and i went out of business. Title: CD Burning Post by: SS on May 02, 2003, 09:36:59 AM /me points to rules about no piracy discussion.
Invision's rules, not mine... I doubt they'll even look at the forum or see this post, but you never know. :paranoid: Title: CD Burning Post by: Rug on May 02, 2003, 10:48:38 AM Kazaa is evil... and anyone who says otherwise gets butchered in a forum where I have powers...
Title: CD Burning Post by: RipperRoo on May 02, 2003, 06:23:58 PM kazaa must be evil then, and I like burning more than the world put together. :P
Title: CD Burning Post by: SS on May 02, 2003, 06:26:43 PM I like burning the world apart.
Title: CD Burning Post by: Rug on May 02, 2003, 06:36:11 PM I like burning threads out of the pattern

Title: CD Burning Post by: Daimao on May 21, 2003, 08:51:30 PM Use kazaalite,no spyware

SS...i dun see what u have against kazaa...sure, it breaks a lot of copyright stuff and theres a lot of pirate shit on there, but its the NEW AGE!!! sharing information, all that new age crap! XD Title: CD Burning Post by: SS on May 23, 2003, 04:03:49 PM Hmmm. Something very interesting just occured to me.
Take a selection of maybe a thousand people. Split them into four groups, depending on two parameters: 1) Do they use Kazaa(or similar apps)? 2) Do they agree with Communism? I think that we all agree the two boxes for Kazaa(etc) users would be the fullest... and I think that the Anti-Communism box would be the fullest out of those two. If this is the case (which I am going to test this weekend btw) then it would be rather peculiar how people can support the very thing they are against. *shrigs* Title: CD Burning Post by: Shadow Hawk on May 23, 2003, 04:53:09 PM well SS, i guess i come in the very small group of Pro-Communism, Pro-Kazaa users.
though i do agree with you, you are right in saying most people would be anti-commi, pro-kazaa. its as simple as this, normal people are greedy, they dont care about the principle of the matter. they are against the principle of communism, but they are eager for kazaa/similar apps because its all free and they dont even have to share or do anything. /me spits on the disgrace of the human race. XD j/k Title: CD Burning Post by: SS on May 23, 2003, 05:01:35 PM Heh, yep. Human's suck.
I say bring back the dinosaurs! :D Title: CD Burning Post by: WBHighwind on May 23, 2003, 11:53:20 PM I use Roxio just cuz its what came with my computer.
Has anyone heard of video cds? I just recently discovered them and found out how to create them. Basically its a format that dvd players can read and you can burn on your cd burner. One good thing about it, it allows you to burn up to 740mb onto a 700mb disc, so its good for home movies and such. Title: CD Burning Post by: Everous on May 24, 2003, 12:23:55 AM roxio can't burn jack...CD Clone uses RAW burning technology to make D-D (i think its D-D) copies of the CDs, which means it can pretty much copy anything you can fit into a CD drive...very cool
and digital videos have been out for many many years O.o they've been taken over by DVDs but i've yet to get a DVD writer... Title: CD Burning Post by: WBHighwind on May 24, 2003, 12:38:04 AM but its just a way to get pirated movies to fit onto a disc easier without dvd and still have it play on dvd players
Title: CD Burning Post by: Everous on May 24, 2003, 12:40:48 AM no...VCDs have been around for quite some time...but was never really introduced in western countries for some strange reason, although i went to China last summer and everyone has VCD players and DVDs are slowly phasing in...over in the UK people just made the jump from VCR to DVD
its not JUST a way to get priated movies...its another multimedia format... Title: CD Burning Post by: WBHighwind on May 24, 2003, 04:19:57 AM yes, I know that vcd are an old format. My dad has a laserdisc player that is prolly 10 years old or so and it plays em. If I remember correctly, they were originally introduced here as audio cds that had still images or little clips to go along with the music. But what I was saying is that it is a way to get pirated movies but its also a way to get home movies and such onto a cd that you can play in dvd players. I was reading on one of the sites that a lot of those dvd burning software packages that you can buy in stores that works with CD-R drives is nothing more then vcd burning programs that you can just download for free off the internet. Which, is good to know. I like that ability that i can use now on burning a whole bunch of the mpeg files I have onto a cd thats able to be played in a lot of dvd players out now.
Title: CD Burning Post by: Everous on May 24, 2003, 11:29:08 AM true, true...but unless you plan to use about 4-5 discs to store a movie, you're gonna have to reduce the quality from DVD standard...something i'm very reluctant to do
Title: CD Burning Post by: Sephiroth The Great on May 25, 2003, 08:54:20 PM Yeah I just use Roxio's 5, It came with my new comp, and it just burns what I want it to, so NO need of buyin somthin else, and with Kazaa well I don't use it becuz i'm against anything that takes money, LOL Greedy Person LOL
Title: CD Burning Post by: WBHighwind on May 26, 2003, 04:45:11 AM well, I got the matrix: reloaded to fit on 2 discs, and it has the quality of a vhs tape, so Im happy with that until the movie comes out on dvd
Title: CD Burning Post by: Shadow Hawk on May 26, 2003, 11:16:43 AM mmm, well, my brother and me are using some encoder program we downloaded to turn proper DVD's (eg. hired ones) into two .avi files about 700mb each, so we're turning full length dvd quality movies into 2 CD's worth. its goodly :P
Title: CD Burning Post by: WBHighwind on May 26, 2003, 10:11:58 PM sounds cool, whats it called? That would be nice to try out and see what kind of quality you would get from that to vcd, just to see...
