Supposed to be returning to the feel of the original, which can only be a good thing. I need to hurry up and get my NAS sorted so I can make the space to install it though. :( Title: UT3 Post by: smi256 on October 22, 2007, 08:25:44 AM Sweat!! A game I might actually buy rather then barrow from a friend LOL
PS. University hasn't killed me yet... :sheep: Title: UT3 Post by: Galmort on October 22, 2007, 07:08:26 PM sweat?
Title: UT3 Post by: SS on October 22, 2007, 07:52:20 PM LOL He's obviously very excited.
And I now have a mental image of smi strolling down the road with a wheelbarrow full of PC games. :D Title: UT3 Post by: SS on October 29, 2007, 12:33:44 AM /me has been playing UT3. It's awesome!

I thought I was being rather ninja. And I now have a mental image of smi strolling down the road with a wheelbarrow full of PC games. :D :sheep: Title: UT3 Post by: smi256 on November 18, 2007, 11:01:21 AM my computer can play UT3 with the settings turned up :hehe:
I love it! though I did really like the onslaught stuff in the earlier version (not UT3) Title: UT3 Post by: SS on November 18, 2007, 01:24:01 PM I can play on two of the levels with the settings turned up. If I try doing that on Shangri La, it doesn't fare so well.
Annoyingly I have to go reset it every time, as the demo doesn't save my video settings. :'( Title: UT3 Post by: smi256 on November 19, 2007, 08:01:03 PM I've only been playing the dark messed up city level (death match), I'll tryout the others after this second round of "mid"terms <_<
Title: UT3 Post by: SS on November 19, 2007, 08:26:41 PM Heh yeah, that's probably the least resource-intensive level, I think they put it in mainly to show off the big spider robot thingy.
Goodluck with what I presume to be exam-like things? Title: UT3 Post by: smi256 on November 20, 2007, 07:52:09 AM yes, midterms are exams... how ever, with a name like "midterm" one would think that they happen in the middle of the term (in this case, term = quarter), but no... we have three such tests, except we call the last one a final...
Some of the questions are easy-ish: diagramming a finite state machine of regular expressions and can we write our own regex. Then again we get shit ones like: Quote Given a regular expression r used to construct a (NFA) Non-deterministic Finite Automaton, which is then used to scan a string s, what is the size of the NFA, and how much time does it take to scan the string? I have no idea what the question is let alone the answer...(A) space = O(|r|); time = (|r|x|s|) (B) space = O(|r|); time = (|s|) © space = O(|r|x|s|); time = (|r|x|s|) (D) space = O(|r|x|s|); time = (|s|) one point for correct minus half a point for wrong zero points if marked with a 'z' a third of the test is multiple choice Title: UT3 Post by: SS on November 20, 2007, 08:59:45 PM  WTF!? Losing points for getting it wrong!? That's shit.
We kinda have a similarish system I think - for A-levels certain subjects have January exams, in addition to the main May-July ones. Or at least they did, though I think they've changed it all about now anyway. Do you have coursework in addition to exams? Title: UT3 Post by: smi256 on November 21, 2007, 07:25:29 AM For my Math class I have problem sets to turn in.problem sets (http://people.ucsc.edu/~yorik/Math21/homework.htm). My programming course has assignments due every once in a while; a total of five I think.
