So I'm in London for the week for work.  I want to go out and make the most of my evenings... any suggestions?

Hmm.  Natural History Museum for one... London Aquarium for another.

The Science Museum's interesting too, but huge.  The famous market's aren't at all what they're cracked up to be, so you'll probably not want to go there...  Spitalfields market is very good though, and has a small but very good 'hand-powered complex machine' (for want of a better description) museum in the middle of it.  Not sure what else really.  Have a look at Buckingham Palace I suppose, but watch out for the tourists.  It all depends on what sort of stuff you like. :)

The London Eye can be interesting if you like sights, or simply for seeing where things are. Depending on how bright it is when you finish work and what the weather is doing.

There's an exhibit on at the Tate that is apparently good, covering photography in Britain from the 1830s onward.

I like simply wandering along the southbank - whenever I'm there it always seems to have a nice happy atmosphere.

 

are those really evening things?

On a similar note, this October I'll be going to London to study at the LSE, so I'm also wondering what kind of stuff there is to do in London. Less touristy stuff and more in the realms of clubs and nice places to bum about is what I'm looking for.

or a huge arcade to show off my expansive Time Crisis skills
