Second, download & install Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and Spybot (http://www.spybot.info/index.php?page=mirrors), and then run them. Third, if you still have spyware, restart into safe-mode and run Adaware and Spybot again, making sure you do all checks thoroughly. That should get everything, or at very least most things. I'm the God Emperor because I was here from the start and own the place. You're a Newbie because you've only been here a little while. When you get to 25 posts (so 4 more) then you become a Recruit. Also, do you have antivirus software installed? (If not get some, and run a check) Make sure you've got a firewall active too... I like Kerio, though it can be a little confusing, but if you block everything you don't know what it is then you'll probably be okay. :) Title: How can i get rid of Spyware And Adware? Post by: matt_the_shark on July 22, 2004, 06:41:09 PM meh, don't mind me, i have no clue what a long time is for this stuff, but it's currently on about 38gig and i think it's been somewhere between 30-40 minutes :/
EDIT: it just finished, found 25 infected files, about 40 gig in about an hour. meanwhile, i ran ad-aware and spybot, they both found a bunch of things as well :) Title: How can i get rid of Spyware And Adware?
