they still have a lot to work on but the game play is smooth and layout is good.  The story is non exsistant but other than that :rolleyes:

Is the game actually balanced, or are certain race/class combinations better/worse than others?

well, not every race's features are fully implemented yet.  when you login, it has a bar graph showing the progress they're making on the game in the various areas.  i don't know when exactly the beta is supposed to start, but they are saying "soon"...  whatever that means.

an added bonus.. if you find a bug and post it to the forums... .... .... they actually fix it!!  can you believe it?!   <_<  :D  

Hmmm, I'll probably be an Elven Assassin. That or Thief... dunno why thieves get the intelligence bonus & assassins get the gold bonus - seems to be the wrong way round to me.

to get the most out of it, don't attack ImustDIE unless he has over 1 million gold.

TheVoice returned about 97 damage.
ImustDIE returned about 68 damage.

Yeah, there are quite a few super-rich:low-defense people.



Anyhow, I need more feedback on what sort of shield we want. At the moment I'm going with the idea of three-top-points and a cross, like the one below (which I think is poo, but it'll do to show the rough idea what I'm thinking).

Is that a good type, or should it just be a circular one, a plain boring flat-top, or something else?
Personally I want something less charicaturish, more sleeker, but the type is probably okay. (Although I'm toying with thoughts of a round one; can be fancier with less effort)

Also, what colours/materials? (Again, those above are just for show, I'm intending for proper metallic/whatever textures on the final thing.)

Does anybody get the banking thing?  What do they mean by "You have 3 deposits remaining"?  Can you only make 3 deposits ever?

I think it's probably 3 deposits per turn or day, but you lose 10% of your money by putting it in the bank so I can't be arsed to test it. :P

And links in the first post will do for now, but I'll create a new forum if (when) the alliance grows to more than just a handful of people. :)

How are we supposed to grow when there's like 100 alliances for every letter of the alphabet?

Because once we get into the top ten, people will come flocking to us. ;)

i would play teh game but is it as slow as it used to be?

Can be slow to load initially (When loading both it and KoC with seperate Firefox sessions), but otherwise it seems mostly okay (on 512 ADSL).
Oh, and the battle/spy reports do that stupid make-the-player-wait-a-hundred-fecking-years-for-the-info-because-we-think-it-causes-suspense thing, which is very annoying.
Actually, thinking about it, it can be slow sometimes. Just slow enough to be annoying, but inconsistant enough that I'm not complaining (yet).

I'm having trouble with the alliance profile text...we don't have that much going for us.

A. we don't have our own forums for Dark Throne
B. we don't really have a working clicklist other than click the stuff in the first post
C. we only have six members.....(hopefully 7 w/ Uber coming ;))

SS that sheild looks good but it's too round looking...it kind of looks like a turtle shell.  I think you should use a different colour besides yellow.

Gah, I knew you'd compliment the shield whatever I said! :P

The colours are very quick gold/silver, but what we have in the final thing depends on whoever suggests the first thing that looks good. :P


As for the text, maybe mention that TGA formed back in Jan 2003 (because no other alliance has been around that long) and has never lost a war in KoC and we're going to do even better in DT. (use nicer words. :P)

I could tell it was silver but the gold is not so clear.

Nah. We're against Orcs in KoC because we were RPing how the LotR storyline goes (The Great Alliance was from something like: The Last Great Alliance in Middle Earth of Humans, Elves and Dwarves ...bit of a mouthful).
DT doesn't have a storyline (so far?) so there's no justification for being anti-anything.

i made an html page with all the links and a timer thingy that tells you when it's time to click again.  only thing is, you have to leave the browser open all the time.. and your computer on.. of course.

I don't leave this machine on overnight; it's far too noisy, but I might get round to doing a Coldfusion timer thingy (that doesn't need the browser left open) after I got other stuff done.

There's no light source at the moment, that's the natural specular.

there's an interface where we can rename the default rank names.  any suggestions?  here are the defaults:
Leader, Commander, Lieutenant, Recruit
 

Recruit -> Minion. :D

Lieutenant -> Anything without three consecutive vowels. :unsure:

Commander = fine.

Leader = fine.

looks a bit clutttered SS. :unsure:
 

It's a cluster of weapons. 'Course it's going to look cluttered! :P

The point I think we want to convey is that, as an alliance, we are a close community of diverse people, like the weapons. Or something. :mellow:

No...I typed in the details right...I did it 3 or 4 times to check too. :angry:

The password is eight characters long - make sure you're not adding a space to the end.

Also, it's case-sensitive, so make sure capslock is off, and that you capitalise the correct characters.

I did it exactly like you gave it to me.

Edit...it could be b/c you spelled my name wrong...

:/ I copied & pasted the details I sent you, and they worked (after removing the space from the password which Windows added when I c&p-ed).

yeah, it pays off quickly as long as you dont let your gold get stolen  :)  

or play as me... i never get my gold stolen as i never have any, i only produce 107280 gold a day, nobody bothers to take that :)
