Lanair is an alias for the main character in the Dragon Weather series... a very sly, secretive, and intelligent alias.  :)

I only remember having it once...last summer...:P

back when i was around 14-15 (and thats 5-6 years ago), i was reading the LotR series, and instead wanted to make a name based on it...
first set of names were along the lines of GandalfTheWhite,Wise,Grey, etc...
you can expect where i went next :P
and the reason? i liked spellcasters back then, and i still like them even now

alternative names... Advocate(used in a MUD, influenced heavily by the monsters in the original Diablo game from Blizzard).... PeNnYwIsE-tHe-ClOwN(not the Pennywise band, influenced by Stephen King's "It"), Mihama-Chiyo(from anime...)...

I did a report on The Red Baron and got hooked onto WWI flying aces

way back when i was 10 and was stuck using dial up and *cough* aol, i was also an avid Dragon Warrior fan. one of my favorite monster's was Dark Knight. i just took that and modified that to use evil knight as my aol sn, but that was taken, so evil knight400 was born. then i said, that looks stupid, and i threw the whole thing together. :)  

felt like it  :cool:

now i prefer Shadow_King which comes partially from the old radio brodcast "The Shadow" and some other places

FragMaster1972......was looking for a handle for some fps, probably UT. I got bored and started looking at one of those name generators, and combined a few things it gave me. Shortened from Dr_FragMaster. 1972--Dave Silviera, a cool drummer, was born. And thus the Frag-man was born.

originally i was kokuryu1, because it means "black dragon" and that was taken already for an aim sn.  then i became raitei because i had just finished watching getbackers :P .  and now i'm drifter, which has two meanings.  one, i like cars and wish i could drift in mine...u get the idea when you look at my avatar.  the second meaning is a wanderer or someone who goes from place to place

Crash because I used to race cars, and had a season that I went through 6 cars.  2950 was the price of my first race car.    

uber peasant because i used to suck at warcraft but then i got awesome and no longer had a peasant icon.

Some of you may remember an old PC game called Hellbender...  I was calling myself Hornet long before that, but one of the best ships in Hellbender was called Silver Hornet, so I used "TheSilverHornet" wherever Hornet was already taken.

I've also got a handful of other names, but I rarely use those and aren't worth mentioning.

Rug- Comes from a combination of my given name and my brother's sense of humour. Matthew-Matt-Doormat-Rug. *shrugs*.
NWDuneAuron- A shortening of Neverwinter Dune Auron. See those dead Dune forums under the general discussion boards? My forum handle used to be Auron, too...
Auron- Play FFX.

Sachiel- A fallen angel, one of the four Sub-princes of hell. When I assume this name, I become Daimao's bitch.
DeMysteriis- Not sure if I've ever used this one here. Its latin. And its taken from a Mayhem Song/Album- 'De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas'.

Aha. I made Filran on furcadia originally, as an insane wolf that wore two socks. He had named those socks, and claimed they talked to him. He then would claim the socks were going to take over the world, and that he was only the first. Then he'd tackle random people and try to put socks on them. It was rather fun. And I really liked the name, so I used it for KoC, then I saw TGA, joined, and I am forever Filran. But no one can resist the 'Fil ran away' jokes.

i was looking for a dj name back when i was a drum & bass dj.  a friend suggested i go through a textbook for random words that might sound like a name.  so diskreet came from a comp. sci text book where they talk about discrete structures or discrete math or something...  i just changed the spelling.

my alt. and currently preferred online nick is xsilentx, which came about from playing America's Army.  i was going to be silent assassin, but i shortened it to xsilentx cuz i liked it better.

"Zathman" Originated from an older Pseudonym of mine "Zathras" (I swear I did not get this pseudonym from Babylon 5. I've used this pseudonym for about 10 years now {Zathras & Variants} and only 2 years ago did I finally get the SciFi Channel, and realised that there was a Zathras on Babylon 5 (I still haven't seen any episode with him.).). My name came to me in a dream I had, which started off where I kept falling backwards into a flooded neighborhood and I kept trying to keep myself afloat. When I finally found myself some safe ground, I saw a TV which had the news on, my face was featured and they were saying "As of today, Zathras is pronounced dead due to a freak accident in his home." The name 'Zathras' stuck with me, and for years after that I kept adding variants to the name, "Aramon Zathras", "Andriu Adonai Aramon Zathras", "Andriu Adonai-Iemundo Hazakhan Adoni-Aramon Zathras", "Aragoth Zathras", "Sir Zathras", "Tonosama Zathras", "Lord Zathras", "Emperor Zathras", "Zathman".

Only recently have I stuck with 3 pseudonym variants: "Lord Zathras {Lord_Zathras @IRC}", "Emperor Zathras {Emperor_Zathras@hotmail.com; EmperorZathras AIM}", and "Zathman".

I use the damn xs on my  AIM name. Originally it meant you were hard edge or something like that, but I only use x's when the name I want is taken. Bastards! Derogative doesn't belong to you! -dashes off into the morning.-

I'd like to see every black person have "nigga" in their screennames, and see if that strikes strange to you.

I see both as very much insulting to their respective cultures, a sort of bumpersticker that could be abused by people that don't belong in them.  A person does NOT need to advertise to the world which race they claim to belong to.  The fact that it's not even spelled right(Asian, damnit, not azn) gives away the ignorance in it.

And so far, every single persona with things like that (and the x's at beginning and end) on their screennames that I've chatted/met so far proved to be ignorant childish people that act like they belong in elementary school. and stay there.

Oh, and I used to make it a point to attack every orc with those stuff in their names that I could hit back in Age 1 and 2, too... the fools that also usually have every other letter capitalized :P

I use x's in my AIM name. Does that apply to me? Hn? umm  leaky, gassy, pukey(might have been barfy), sneezy,wheezy, and easy.  The logic behind this was they were all fucked up because there was no doc.  

actually there was no easy but i threw that on there because it fits(also I needed a 6th) and I didn't really contribute to the original list.

Well, the spawn part obviously stems from me being a fan of Spawn.  I introduced "Night" because in the various forums I post at I'm known as the "late-night-debater" :D ... I stay up all night... every night.
