The point of this thread is PIE:
1) Promotion - Want to use them? Please do.
2) Improvement - See something wrong? Point it out.
3) Expansion - Want more? Ask for them.

(Any discussion of actual pie, or anything else not directly related to these three points, will be considered spamming.)

Oh yeah, IPB2 will allow different emoticon packs to be selected, so when this forum is upgraded then you'll have the option of using the regular ones or the miniemotes.

/me points Daimao towards definition of minimalist (http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.asp?key=50784&dict=CALD): the smallest range of materials and colours possible.

why not use 5x5? smaller, and probably could look just as crappy :D

You know when you say miniemotes I think they would be smaller not less colour...

With 5x5 I couldn't do half those emotes, and it would just look poo, and you'd need a magnifying glass to see it. :P

under, they are smaller. 15x13 instead of 20x20 or more.

Promotion: I like the regular-sized regular-colored ones better.
Improvement: things to change: give it color, make it larger, and more varieties... oh wait, that's basically the same as the ones we have already...
Expansion: don't really want to think about it right now...

And plus they are in colour.  I like the beer mug on the other one but I think it would be better if it was coffee instead.

Exactly, we already have coloured ones.
But some crazy people don't actually like emoticons like we currently have, which is why I did small greyscale ones.

I'll be doing more shooty-firey ones eventually too, making them into a proper collection of fighting emotes, but they take longer; 195 pixels with upto five colours is much quicker to do than 480 pixels with upto two hundred colours.

Wait...which crazy people don't like the emotes we have now?  If they don't like them then they probably don't visit often enough to care.

The only one I have a slight problem w/ is  :P  :waterbeam/l:  :asha'man/l:  b/c the tongue is pointy, and it slightly reminds me of something.

Not people that visit here; people on another forum that didn't have emoticons, before I made the first half of MiniEmotes. People liked them because they were just like regular text-smileys, but with the benefit of being better than sideways faces.

Because no-one has ever asked for a monkey, or given me any incentive to do one, and there wasn't a monkey in the default set here.
Several of those (including the monkey) are inspired by the Trillian emotes.

SS- all I have to say about those new emotes you're thinking of is... they suck!  :P  

I want one.  Can you give us one? um incentive I'll think of that later.

Maybe, later. Like I said, full-colour regular emotes take more time, and I've still got other important things to do at the moment. :P

Well then I don't mind the non-colour monkay emote...give us the beer too.

I dislike those greatly.... They may fit into a boring text based black and white forum, but our nice shades of blue one needs more colourful emotes.

I've done far more than that in my absence.
Aside from my final year project (which I can't really show until it's been marked, but you have to trust me that it took quite a lot of time. :P), I've done several things in Cinema4D, such as a crysknife (http://www.hybridchill.com/misc/dune_crysknife.jpg) (and the dune background to it), my foldspace image (http://www.hybridchill.com/misc/Renderosity/foldspace_1600x1200.jpg), an alarm clock (http://www.hybridchill.com/misc/Renderosity/AlarmClock.preview.jpg), and several other things I can't be arsed to upload. I've also done work on a couple of websites, though not very much, and I've listened to lots of music and killed lots of people. :D

And, as I said originally, these emotes will never be forced upon you (unless I want a punishment :devil:), they will be a choice for those people that don't want the regular ones, so the people that don't like them don't have to worry.

*advises SS to make a colored monkey emote* :D
