Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Biteme360 on March 08, 2004, 06:59:46 PM i just needed to post this somewhere now that i finally found a good place to host pictures from
(http://www.bonedaddy.net/biteme360/ranked10thTrimmed.jpg) Title: Bragging Rights Post by: ns33 on March 08, 2004, 11:04:28 PM
Just remember, Striker was #1 for almost all of Age 2... almost... And guess who was the winner? Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 09, 2004, 03:32:48 AM Who? I don't know. :miffed:
Biter- that pic is like weeks old! LOL Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 09, 2004, 03:33:37 AM so? it's still something to be proud of :D
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 09, 2004, 03:34:18 AM True. Better than I've ever gotten. LOL
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 09, 2004, 03:39:23 AM i've gotten into the top 500 before, back in age two. it was near the beginning the first time, and then later in the middle. then i got sabbed and i decided to get immune and go all attack after that :D
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 09, 2004, 03:40:53 AM Age 2 I was ranked 95, before sabbing became popular.... <_<
BTW- how did a guy with 2 men make it into the top 10? LOL Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 09, 2004, 03:42:06 AM here's another question:
how does a guy who doesn't know how to use the bold/italics get so many posts :P edit: damn, you fixed it :P they were prolly the first to buy weapons Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 09, 2004, 03:45:37 AM Quote how does a guy who doesn't know how to use the bold/italics get so many posts :P I almost never use bold, but always italics, so excuse me if I get confused! :P Title: Bragging Rights Post by: underruler on March 09, 2004, 03:48:35 AM He probably trained a spy or something.
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 09, 2004, 03:50:13 AM he's only got two guys, i don't think he would have enough money to get the spy level...
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: underruler on March 09, 2004, 03:51:26 AM He probably trained a spy.
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 09, 2004, 03:52:29 AM you need a spy level for spys to be worth anything!
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 09, 2004, 04:02:06 AM I don't think so. Especially when no one else has any spy level. :miffed:
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 09, 2004, 04:03:38 AM *sigh*
the spy level is added as an exponent somewhere in the spy equation. no exponent = no covert action :hmmm: Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 09, 2004, 04:05:26 AM Ummm... I think if you have 1 spy, and 0 covert skill, you would either have 1 or 2 as a Covert Action.
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 09, 2004, 04:07:03 AM anyone want to try it?
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 09, 2004, 04:07:52 AM Ha. Like I'd delete my account just to rebuild and see who's right? :P
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 09, 2004, 04:09:16 AM well, you never know, you are unpredictable like that you know
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: LadyofLight on March 09, 2004, 05:24:48 AM Don't you start at spy level 1? And then with one spy you would have skill?
O if skill is in the equation as an exponenet, like 2^(Spy level)*(Number of Men) or something then 2^(0)*1=1*1=1. (Remember anything to the power of zero equals 1) So either way you'd still get a point if you just trained a spy. Title: Bragging Rights Post by: ns33 on March 09, 2004, 05:02:43 PM No, unit production and spy levels are both 0 at the beginning of an age.
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Biteme360 on March 09, 2004, 08:37:26 PM i konw exactly how they did it, the made new accounts, when you actived an account that was already there, you got 1K gold, something like that, but when age 2 started if you made a new account you still got 50K gold, buy some def and attack weapons, and train a spy or two and your top ten.
Quote Just remember, Striker was #1 for almost all of Age 2... almost... And guess who was the winner? is that a challenge NS? cause i'm up for it Title: Bragging Rights Post by: ns33 on March 10, 2004, 01:45:45 AM /me points to Flurff
Don't underestimate the hiders. I'd prefer my strike to take more, thanks though. Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 10, 2004, 02:56:38 AM i think NS secretly wants to take the challenge.
just a thought... Title: Bragging Rights Post by: LadyofLight on March 10, 2004, 03:18:04 AM Ns, if it starts at zero this part of my statement works:
Quote Or if skill is in the equation as an exponenet, like (2^(Spy level)*(Number of Men)) or something then (2^(0)*1)=(1*1)=1. (Remember anything to the power of zero equals 1) Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 10, 2004, 01:37:56 PM bah, you win then. i don't get how a zero exponent should equal one though <_< it's one of those things that makes you think that the person who made it up didn't really know anything <_<
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: SS on March 10, 2004, 02:32:02 PM No one made it up. It's mathematics.
Look: 2^-3 = 1/8 2^-2 = 1/4 2^-1 = 1/2 2^0 = 1/1 2^1 = 2/1 2^2 = 4/1 2^3 = 8/1 See the pattern? A negative number gives 1 over a number, and a positive gives a number over 1. Because zero is neither/both positive and negative, it has 1 over 1. Which is 1. Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 10, 2004, 02:56:56 PM i know how it works, i was just hoping that i could convert you :P
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 11, 2004, 04:20:10 AM Quote A negative number gives 1 over a number, and a positive gives a number over 1. Never thought of it that way. Of course, the reason I occasionally have trouble in math is because I don't understand the simple things. LOL Because zero is neither/both positive and negative, it has 1 over 1. Which is 1. Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 11, 2004, 02:30:50 PM yeah, i'm good at math, but i make stupid mistakes sometimes, so i lose points...:(
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: SS on March 11, 2004, 10:57:55 PM I'm great at maths; the only time I lose marks is when I make intelligent mistakes. :P
Anyway, going back on topic... I'm ranked just outside the top 5500s. Yay. Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 12, 2004, 04:35:03 AM Quote yeah, i'm good at math, but i make stupid mistakes sometimes, so i lose points...:( I bet I suck at simple addition more than you! :P Oh... er... on topic? I'm climbing up to 12k. LOL Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Hyvry1 on March 12, 2004, 09:54:14 AM I do A2 level maths which is the level below Uni. I will be doing a highly maths based course at Uni.
I am coming up for overtaking the 2k mark to get into the low 1k rank. Title: Bragging Rights Post by: LadyofLight on March 12, 2004, 04:06:00 PM I'm in Calculus 3. :P
Stuck around 3,000. Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Biteme360 on March 14, 2004, 08:29:03 AM  cal 3, if you go to usc, remind me to find you and beg for tutoring, i'm barly making it through cal 2
oh, and i'm holding steady at.... don't look if you don't want to know may cause sudden loss of blader control, dizziness, and intense feelings of envy Ranked: 82, goes anywhere from 79-85 Title: Bragging Rights Post by: matt_the_shark on March 14, 2004, 04:06:22 PM i'm holding steady around 6.5k
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: LadyofLight on March 14, 2004, 05:17:11 PM I hate you Biteme.
Still stuck around 3,000... Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Drifter1 on March 14, 2004, 05:57:01 PM i'm slowly rising from about 450
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: LadyofLight on March 14, 2004, 07:09:55 PM I suppose I'd be doing better if I wasn't at school 12 hours a day plus having homework plus actually sleeping. Oh well. Sometimes I even have a semblance of a life.
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Perdition on March 14, 2004, 07:40:02 PM pfft you can cut sleeping right out of there so easily. all you need is coffe ;)
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Kidirk on March 14, 2004, 11:54:12 PM Time to expand the scope of these bragging rights in KoC, I was the first person to start a public dwarf only alliance. It lasted for almost all of age 1, but when age 1 got stale and people stopped playing, it slowly died. It was called the Dwarf Confederacy. I'm sure some of you remember xyph, he was a member of it in addition to TGA. It died from staleness and strangely, I still have the e-mail addresses of at least 2/3's of the more loyal members.
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: LadyofLight on March 15, 2004, 03:28:58 AM Ever think of emailing those members and telling them to join TGA? ;)
Sorry, coffee makes me nautious. Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 15, 2004, 05:20:01 AM *grumble, grumble*
If we're going back into the past, I was ranked 95 in Age 2 for a while. :D Title: Bragging Rights Post by: underruler on March 15, 2004, 05:33:59 AM You should have got a screenshot of that like Biter did when he was ranked #10 or something.
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Drifter1 on March 15, 2004, 06:01:06 AM my highest rank ever in age 2 was 16...but that was in the beginning before people got really strong. too bad i didn't take a screenshot of it :P
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Perdition on March 15, 2004, 03:34:46 PM well yeah it does that when you first start drinking it. you get use tio it though.
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: LadyofLight on March 15, 2004, 11:28:32 PM pft, I just use sugar highs instead.
Chai is good though. Lotsa sugar in that... Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 16, 2004, 04:53:07 AM Quote You should have got a screenshot of that like Biter did when he was ranked #10 or something. What? You don't trust me? :D Actually, I don't know how to take a screenshot. :miffed: And lady- Chai? Title: Bragging Rights Post by: LadyofLight on March 16, 2004, 05:34:37 AM Chai, it's a heavy milk tea originating in India, though that's a little redundant as the word chai means tea! :P Very good, especially Green Tea chai, specifically Oregon Green Tea chai, though I also like Pacific's vanilla chai.
As far as a screenshot goes, do you see a print screen button on your keyboard, should be around the upper right side. Press it, and it copies the screen. Then you just have to paste it in word or graphics program of your choice. Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Perdition on March 16, 2004, 06:31:52 AM gah you arnt supposed to add milk to tea or coffee whats up with you weird peoiple. its supposed to be black, cold, and bitter as hell. no frills.
Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Hornet on March 16, 2004, 10:34:25 AM Screenshots prove nothing - I could make a "screenshot" that showed LordStriker at rank 666 and nobody would be able to tell the difference from the real thing. Title: Bragging Rights Post by: Lord Lanair on March 17, 2004, 05:16:02 AM ... And I have a Mac. I see no buttons to press to make a screenshot. :miffed:
