yeah i did. For my character(a knight) i have a scythe, leather armor, wooden helmet and shield. but i guess other characters have their own weapons and defence.  

I have a cloak and club, as well as wooden stuff.  But I still don't understand what having an increased defense does.  :miffed:  

in every battle your personal character duels the other one. If you have an increased defence then when you are attacked than you cause more damage and receive less


Oh yeah i attacked a guy wit 818 defence(i spied him later to figure out what happened) and he caused me so much damage i ended up with -300 life points(thankfully it just rounds to 0 otherwise i woulda been screwed)

huttah! and no daily tax either! this should be good!

and with so little turns to use, it's stupid.
i wonder if it's possible to have negative exp...

i had the tax at one kempra per day just for fun, but they didn't like it :P

Gand- are you attacking peole 1/4 your strength?  That helps (and spying to make sure their characters can't kill you). LOL

Sharky- I eliminated the tax because I don't know how it works why should I pay the clan when SOMEONE keeps stealing from the kitty? :P Or did we never have more than 2k kempras in it? LOL

lanair:  a tax of one means that you would pay one kempra to the kitty every day.  seeing that you earn many thousands of times more than that per day, i thought i would just put that in there for fun :)

also, I am the only one who has done anything with the kitty as of yet.  i put the money in there, and i took it out later because i was in need of a little more cash.  am i allowed to take my own money out? :P

i think i should be in the administration like T3H PWNAGE!!!

uhhh, gand? whatever that thing you gave us is, it's telling me to either log in or that im in a restricted part of the site.

you're not to run it directly from the site, you have to download/save it all to a folder/directory first and make necessary changes in notepad :P

you guys should get a small  tax like 100 thingies a day thats easy to come by and will eventually add up and its nice to have that in there

why do clans need a tax? what does it pay for, and more importantly, who does it go to?

the tax charges x amount of kempras per day.  the tax goes into the clan kitty.  PM a clan admin if you want to make a withdrawal and say what you need it for.  we will make the appropriate transactions :D

Or, I believe the admins can also steal kempras from an account.  Just a guess (I haven't tried it yet).  :D

the link clicks are the clicks per day. I just got myself a Greater Demon :D  now i'm off to upgrade my character's stuff and save up for a Demon of the Ancient(it'll take a looooooooooong time)

...so i have to get 20 clicks in one day in order to continue the vermin quest? :(  

yeah, that's why i dropped that quest. I om hte one of the staff of endless Kempras which is hard as hell

the Staff of Endless Kempras isn't that hard if you trade links in the official chat room...

right now saving up turns for another quest...
and saving up money for the helm(the +200 one)

won't be attacking for a while, and living off clicks/turn money while avoiding battles.

hmm, i think ill go all defense, see where that takes me in terms of kempras.

I suggest leaving only 1 peasant on defense until you're reeeeeally powerful, because everybody attacks people only 1/4 their strength (in other words, you can't win).  ;)  

nah, i defend attacks from people higher up than me, you can put your people in defense...but there's one problem with that....your peasants could at any given moment get totally annihilated by some unknown force.  but other than that it's not that bad :)

oh man, i SO beat that vermin quest, and the sword sold for 500k!
if you're not too high up level-wise, i suggest you do it, if only to sell the sword.

And sharky- why not just keep some demons on defense instead of peasants?  It could work (since they have such high hp).  ;)  

because lanair, if you just had demons, then each of the attacker's creatures would attack them, killing them.
and if you need clicks, just pop into the daow chat room a few times a day. :)  

The stupid idiot attacked me for 90 towns, i attacked him (1 Great Demon vs. 1 peasant) three times to get 500+ towns  :alien:
Sure, I died 4 times, but I think it's worth it XD

that's definatly worth it.
i think ive worked out a simple formula that works for me:
exp lost from one death = exp gained from two victories.
so you should be able to get that lost exp back with about 8 successful attacks

I get my defense wiped out when a fuggin guy used spells to mop up the bloodbath with the corpses of my Greater/Lesser Demons.
Ok, not so bad, I'll go buy another GD.
I attack to get some money.
Now my ATTACK force gets wiped out when a fuggin guy used defensive spell on me to shove all the body parts up my ass.

Now I barely scraped up enough money to get a GD, and nothing more.

Makes me wish I got that dota when I had the money to get it.
Yeah, nothing matters anymore because everything can get wiped out in mere few attacks.  That's the moral of the day with this game...

Now if you excuse me, I'll be going off to play a single-player game, seeing that even Barafranca is preventing me from playing it.

How do your attackers die if you scout out the people beforehand?  :miffed:

i would have, if i had the money to do that at the time.
and seeing that i got my defenses wiped out in the first place and spent what i had in rebuilding my units, i didn't have much left to scout :|

i agree with Fire. I went away for one day and lost all my defence even my 2 Great Demons. Now i'm just gonna go all out attack because I always recover towns  

I don't even see why it's worth having a defense, or buying anything besides demons.  <_<  

because if you have a defense  peopel cant steal your stuff or if they do you atleast wound them a bit vs. just handing it over to them without a fight.  speaking of which lanair would you care if I farmed you a bit? :P

hmm. i just did some math, and it's probably wrong. LOL
anyways, ive figured that one demon of the ancients costs the same as 15 greater demons.
however, when you take the greater demon's stats and multiply them by 15, they come out higher than 1 demon of the ancients. therefore, isnt it better and more efficient to buy greater demons?

i suppose so.

hmm, i just realized another advantage.
if your demon of the ancients dies, you're short 50k attack with no way of restoring it.
if a greater demon dies, it only costs about 7k per death.

personally, i go/went by the PR, not the costs of the monsters.  (this is because who you can attack/who can attack you are determined by your overall power rating)
1 dota = 400 PR
1 GD = 80 PR

at that rate, 1 dota = 5 GDs.
people with the same rating can have completely different power in reality, and this comes in handy in particular when people 4x your PR can attack you.

unfortunately, the fact that people up to 4x can attack you is the biggest drawback... since someone with 4 dotas can still attack you...

I chose Chaos because I'm going for attack and Blademasters are allowed to choose their alignment instead of being forced into one

yeah, but now im starting to wish i had gone with something other than chaos mage, cause they just dont add up. the only things about their spells that i see as decent would be; destroy 125 townships, summon 1500 skeletons, summon the evil one.

I'm trying to decide whether curates or elementalists are better... I'm leaning towards curates.  :miffed:

Evil- you can always sell all your stuff, give the money to the clan, recreate your character, and rebuild an army with those kempras the clan gives back.  ;)

BTW- going knight, then curate, sounds very good.  Though if you wanna go curate, by going druid (or pally) first, you gain access to magic.  :)

also, even though you'd get magic as a druid, im really moreso aiming for just higher overall stats. if i wanted magic still, id stick with my chaos mage.

for the first three days you cant log into your account in vacation mode.  and after that when you log in it takes you out of vacation mode.  and it does take you out of your clan for the time you are on avacation but as soon as you log back in you are back in your clan.

also, whats the order/chaos thing do?

i dunno, chaos is like the mages and stuff like that and order is like the knights i think.  the other's are probably in them groups too.  it's mostly just the RP part of the game i think.

well, i've already outlined my reasons before:
1. you are basically penalized for any hard work you put into it (the more men you have, the more money you have, the more towns you have = the more men/money/towns you'll lose when you're defeated per attack NO MATTER HOW STRONG the opponent's attack force is)
2. there's no way of defending, because anything you try to do can be wasted into nothing with mere one-two attacks

my own army's attack logs proved both points
there's no point in the clicking, there's no point in building up an army
what use is there left, then? nothing.
and so it's a waste of my time and i don't care about it any more.

btw, the order/chaos thing is grossly skewed mainly because of the curates thing giving them practically invincibility against demons, like i said before in another post, and will be even more skewed once the game introduces the unit changes :

If you play, Ev, I suggest fighting for the order; you get predominantly defensive units, and can become a curate.  :)

By choosing Chaos Mage, you're automatically chaos
By choosing Paladin or Druid, you're automatically order
Any other classes you get a choice for

Gand- what's wrong with curates?  I'll probably become one... eventually.  :D

By the way... by placing all of my skeletal dragons/greater demons on defense, few people attack me, I win 60% of the time, and almost never suffer more than 2% casualty rates.  ;)  

hmmm, in my period of absense, all of my greater demons got killed :hmmm:

I feel for you.  In my 3 day absence, I lost 6 demons, and 2 skellies.  :(

You can "borrow" some clan money... but not all of it!  LOL

Well, I borrowed 220k kempras for a Blade of the Chimera, but I did pay it back mostly.  :P

EDIT: Sharky... how many kempras did you actually take? :huh:  As part of your repayment to the clan, I decree that you need to... give me... a life?  Nah, but could you try to click the links (I'm tired of being the only one who does).  ;)  

i took 200k to help rebuild my recently lost army of demons :( I'll pay it back...somehow....:paranoid:

try losing 3 DotAs
lanair: "what's wrong with curates"? i've already explained why!
explain how fair it is to lose 1.5mill investment in a DotA when a curate with 1 DotA killed it
and for the duration of this 3rd generation, or at least until they implement the new units, curates would always have the upper hand in one-on-one battles because the opponents will have their best unit(DotA) dead.

heh...i've not lost 3 DotAs...
but i've lost far over 20,000 guards before...in one attack

I worked out a spreadsheet for unit efficiency before...and DotA turned out to be the least efficient unit in terms of value for money. Guards were the most efficient (not that i'd recommend buying too many since they die quick on defense).

but having things like DotA on defense can deter people, opposed to 2,000 guards on defense which is like suicidal....

Well, 1 DoTA is much better than 2k guards, because (unless you're fighting a curate), there will never be casualties, and thus having him is cheaper than replacing 300 guards per attack.  ;)  

well yeah...but there are other units that are far more efficient than DoTA s but still do not get many casualties...

I used to have loads of peasants on the defence, but that was only to kill them off because i didnt wanted them on the attack thing because they died to easily

I would do that (kill off my weaker units) but then each attack would also mean a loss of about 30-50 townships.  :(  

put them on attack and go on suicide runs... whatever survives afterwords you can just keep as "Special" units

The clan kitty exists so whoever wants money can leech off of other members.  If you need extra cash at the moment, you can take some, but most of us would prefer if those borrowers paid it back eventually!  LOL

Honestly?  Nothing.  Though I was able to sucessfully resist the temptation to steal all 700,000 kempras Gandalf gave the clan when he quit.  ;)
