Title: Siege
Post by: Hyvry1 on February 19, 2004, 12:46:13 AM
The siege says it upgrades by 33.3% but it doesn't.
I log all my KOC stats in  an emulator that i use to help me calculatestuff for KOC.
Whilst upgrading my siege i noticed that my attack went up by 16.65% Instead of 33.3%.
I son't know whether fortification does this i will note it when i next upgrade.  It would be useful if you guys recorded your before and after SA or DA depending on what you upgrade, then calculate the percentage increase then post  it here.  I have a feeling the admins screwed up...

Yeah I noticed that too, hopefully someone will bring it to their attention. Did you check it after attacking someone with Fortification, because that could of just brought down the %.

it modifies 33.whatever% of your unmodified bonuses, thus remove all bonuses from any previous siege and that should look closer

That would mean cannons is the same as flaming arrows.  If it removed it then gave 33.3%.  It would do this each time and no gain would occur which is untrue.  I clearly found that when i upgraded my siege it increased, i found that using my original SA and my new SA i calculated a 16.65% rise instead of a 33.3% rise.

nonono--you misunderstand. say your SA with no upgrades is 100,000. with 1 upgrade it's 125,000 (25%). The next upgrade will get it up to 150,000--25% of your unmodified bonus.

That could explain it.  I will note the percentage change when i next upgrade then see if they match.  If it decreases then this means it is the unmodified amount.

Actually.... I didn't.  But since you have alerted me to that fact... I assume the word fucktard is also usable?

keep things on topic in the TGA/KOC sections <_< .  leave this stuff in the Temple....
dear god, that sounds sooo wrong... :miffed:

but anyhow... I upgraded, and the % seemed correct.  I got 0.332982792% (basically one third) increase.
each upgrade stacks, where X is the level of upgrade, and no upgrade equals zero; (X*33.33%+1) multiplier or 25% for fortification.
This reminds me of AD&D somehow…

[bump/update]
there is an error with the upgrades, but some give you the right amount, some don't
so I take back what I said, I only took one sample and it just so happened to be the one that worked correctly
