Always been wondering what all you peoples' motives were/are for joining and staying with TGA.

As for myself, it was initially just revenge, but now it's more of having fun and socializing with fellow alliance members ;)
It's damned boring if you had to play by yourself or with your old high-school friends that you don't talk much anymore...

when I first joined it was mainly for clicks. Now its more the socialization/community aspect.

My vote was for "Just for the hell of it."  When I started playing this game I knew absolutely nothing about it.  I don't even remember how I heard of it because nobody I know plays it.  I went to the KoC Forums and was like "Hmm...I need to join an alliance b/c I'll get wrecked on my own."  TGA was one of the first alliances I saw.  I saw it accepted elves so I figured I'd check it out.  It had a cool banner and not a gay name like the "Friendship Alliance" "Rainbow Alliance" or "We Like it Up the Butt" alliance, and that was enough for me.  Now that I'm in, the reason I stay active is for the community part, but the question asked why we joined.

In high school someone started playing KOC and would tell us about it and a bunch of us just looked over his shoulder.  When we saw what it was, we figured it’d be a little something for us to do during our lunch break.  We weren’t really an alliance, but when someone got hit hard, we called it rape; we would start attacking back in mass.  We even kept a list of ID numbers in our agendas, of people that were good farms, or rapeable, as we called it.  But this is where we sort’a lost interest.  Things stopped being realistic, having more weapons then solders and still having them count, and attacking people with little or no defense killed hundreds of your soldiers, and exedra.  Game play slowed, and they stopped playing.

Then I joined TGA, because there really isn’t much purpose in the game when you don’t have anyone to gossip with about the game, and to strategize with.  That’s why I was pushing for Age3 plans so much, it’s more fun to be more organized, and much more beneficial for the alliance.  Heck, the organizing might be more fun then the game at times. :P

Crap.  How does this happen? :angry:  I end up with long posts…it much be all the writing assignments I get, :hmmm:  and all the filler and BS I put in them. :P
 

I joined cause it was really the only alliance that appealed to me. I guess the name had a lot to do with it. It wasnt in-your-face or too glaring, nor was it boring. The Great Alliance just is what its name is. I think almost three quarters of my decision was based on name itself, and seeing it was relatively "new" (I'm member 69 and dont forget that :D) I decided to join up.

I don't know why I'm here maybe someone can tell me. Mainly to get help and revenge. Sometimes I try to help out. I pop up here and there. I'm so damn busy with school and stuff i haven't been in the forums or the chat. I will soon. Don't forget me :(  

hmmm i was in NEA, when it was totally disorganized (rem and me posted most there :cool: ), we were having this war together with u guys, i noticed u guys were much more effective and willing to fight (and yes more fun to hang out with)
and the reason i'm staying is that i like it here, i'd might have quit KoC long time ago if it wasn't for TGA

heh, and to think that I was going to join relentless due to effectiveness and drive.  But then I saw it was nothing more then stepping on people that are new to the game, and cheap tricks like having lots of accounts... those are the exact people I don't like, so I came here. :D good dissection. yes yes.

I know its a forum number. I just had to point it out in semi-relevant to join date since entrace into alliance required postings on forum.  :sheep: :grass:

I joined for socialization and mayb to get to learn grom the greatest about the game... i mean it is the "Great" Alliance hehe

There was a thread on GUA about the last alliance of Humans, Elves & Dwarves against Orcs.
After a few posts of general discussion about it, someone (Tarnimel, I think) suggested forming an alliance against Orcs.
I responded by saying that I was already attacking only Orcs and provokers, and that I would ally with anyone who did the same.
Several people replied, someone suggested the name "The Great Alliance", and thus the alliance was born.

I joined because I was in a war with... chula240 I think, that I couldn't possibly win, and I wanted help.   The problem went away, but the alliance was fun to stay in.  :D

I joined because I had nothing better to do, and my intuition told me I must. :)

40th member when I joined, now 3 or 4th oldest remaining TGA'er. :D

I was looking for an alliance to join, after getting ignored by a few of them. I ran across a thread about some guy who was trying to get TGA to stop attacking him. I forget who it was that replied, but I did like to the class that person showed. A click of his banner later I was on my way to joining. So far I've convinced Lyban and PJS5557 to join us.

ah...maybe you're talking about Mojo complaining TGA were attacking him?

I decided to join after reading a post of Rohirrim_Rider in GUA about destroying the orcish threat.
 

TGA was recommended to me by someone I respect and when I visited the site I was impressed with the witty banter.  :D  :D

Airena was in it first so i thought i'd join cuz i was in this other alliance which didn't end up well i guess...nobody wanted to talk to me...and i think joining would make me Karin's certified bitch now...oOo pretty colours...you noe i like how they label me a newbie...

In most cases it's better than having one of Rug's personalized titles, LOL.  Welcome to the site.  Just wipe your feet on the rug when you come in.  But DON'T MOCK THE RUG!

Underruler, Rug is one of the head guys mostly in the forum, a law enforcement sort of guy.  There are others, and I'm sure you'll learn them in time.  Oh, and your 'newbie' title will go away in a few posts, don't take it personally (it’s better then ‘asshat’)

It seems as though when I'm not around everyone becomes an asshat (or another custom title).  LOL  

boredom...The ages seem to last too long.  Where's the challenge now that so many are unsabbable/citadel/cannons/level 10 spies.  sigh.  just getting old I guess, warriors shouldn't do that.

Ah yes, I remembered one of the really big reasons I did not join relentless.  When I was reading their forum (or KOC’s), there was this problem they were having.  This one guy wanted to make the thread, just to have the first post, but he was too slow.  After someone else had started the thread, he was ass hurt, and was whiny about.  That was a major turn-off, he was supposed to be one of the main guys, and was acting like some spoiled little fish about something as little as not getting first post.  I went strait back the ‘Round Table’ and found a new alliance to take a look at, and thus I came to TGA.

Initially, I just joined for the hell of it... playing on one's own is boring, after a while.  No wars, just you against others.  With an alliance you can have tens of players fighting against one another in organized attacks.  Plus, men are a factor.  I gave thought to the NEA, or to other weak alliances, but joined TGA because of the organized, simple forum and people posting on it.  

I said, "socialize," even though I'm not a member...:-)

I just wanted to bump this thread to see why the new people joined/would like to join us. :)

OK Jeff...and if Killum is still around...Hate and Hyvry.  And some people didn't even post what their motive was...coughGoryouscough. AND OF COURSE CRASH ^^

I joined because Hyvry1 pointed me towards it, but as I had been reading the forums over his shoulder for quite a while, I had already decided that this seemed to have a better community than most other clans, where the only communication is to do with click-farming or attack orders etc.

I could have swore I put down all my hidden reasons, and perverse thoughts.  Sorry Under you weren't my primary reason for joining, but hey jesus loves you.  j/k  You know we love you.   I thought the comradere was outstanding and the teamwork was incredible.  Although there have been moments of utter stupidity, I feel that TGA wil prevail.
