Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on November 24, 2003, 02:28:29 AM I love good old American football. It's by far the best sport to watch consistently and that's why it got my vote. Go Eagles! But I must admit, once it's time for the World Cup to come around, I'm all over that. Both are great sports and I don't play either of them competitively, but watching them on TV, playing recreationally, and playing video games of both sports kicks ass. <> and o rule!

Title: Football or football? Post by: Perdition on November 24, 2003, 05:23:15 AM I'm an easily confused person. thats a really tough choice. hmm I would have to say soccer I guess because my parents wouldn't let me play football("o Anna your too sensitive" bah!) course in football you actually get to tackle people and you don't get in trouble for doing so.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on November 24, 2003, 07:22:40 PM Quote Let's talk about Ahman Green's incredible rushing this season. ;) I think we should talk about how Rush Limbaugh (spelling?) is a douche for talking crap about the Eagles when they were 0-2 at the beginning of the season. The two teams that they lost to were the last two Super Bowl Champions, the Pats and the Bucs. Now look at the Eagles. They're 8-3 and on a 6 game winning streak. I can wOOt to that. But seriously, I never though Dallas would keep up their high level of play and they're still 8-3 as well. They seriously have no talent on that offense of theirs. Title: Football or football? Post by: pdj32000 on November 24, 2003, 09:41:36 PM whoa.... who has no talent on their offense???
Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on November 24, 2003, 09:45:38 PM Quincy Carter is terrible...that stats speak for themselves. They don't have a consistent rushing game. Joey Galloway is rarely effective, Terry Glenn is washed up, and Antonio Bryant is a no-namer. The Cowboys have been an incredible team thus far this year, I'll give them that. They surprised the hell out of me. But it's 80% because of their defense, 15% from special teams, and 5% offense. The game that they beat the Eagles they had one special teams TD and one defensive TD. If it weren't for the Eagles opening the game with an onside kick that was returned all the way, the result of the game woulda much different considering Dallas only won by a field goal as it is.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on November 24, 2003, 10:28:37 PM and even the Giants game was a fluke because of the out of bounds kickoff. the only offensive player on the Cowboys whos any good is Galloway. I was playing Madden 2004 against my friend who's a Cowboys fan. (I was the Giants obviously). he set all of Carter's stats to 99, i picked him off 4 times and i won 57-21. to borrow a phrase from Stuart Scott BOO-YAH!!!!
Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on November 24, 2003, 11:09:44 PM Stuart Scott WANTS THE FLEECE! Boo-yah! Remember that commerical? God, ESPN makes the best commercials of all time.
Title: Football or football? Post by: pdj32000 on November 25, 2003, 06:23:09 PM well a win is a win... the only teams they've lost too... well r the gooood ones haha... and they didnt lose against the giants... mistakes tell the team... including the kicker and how he kicks... :P :D LOL
Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on November 25, 2003, 07:35:55 PM Yeah I seriously think that the Giants should fire every player on their special teams unit except Jeff Feagles. He makes some good punts. Thank the Lord the Giants have Brian Mitchell now instead of the Eagles. I liked him a lot but he's damn slow now while Brian Westbrook is like lightning. Speaking of lightning...or thunder and lightning...what happened to the 1st round draft pick Heisman trophy winner Ron Dayne. He's on the practice squad now! What a joke! :hehe:
Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on November 26, 2003, 12:02:57 AM bah :hmmm: the Giants suck now. My friend Dan and I are making a plan. We'll sneak into Fassel's house when he's sleeping and play a recording of plays we think he should use(we're convinced we are better playcallers than him) we're going to put magnets in the football and slice open Tiki Barber's hand (while anesthezing it while he's asleep) and put another magnet with opposite poles in so he won't fumble. And we're just going to shoot Kerry Collins cuz he's so inconsistant and there's no hope for him. At least he's better than Carter tho.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on November 26, 2003, 03:48:10 AM My friend is a huge Giants fan, naturally...since I live in NJ. He just wants the Giants to lose the rest of their games so they can get a good draft pick. Probably someone like Ron Dayne again, LOL. Anyway, ya know what's really really cool. We have the whole NFC East rivalry going on in here. NS33 likes the Skins. I like the Eagles. pdj32000 likes the Cowboys. And Red_Baron likes the Giants. We should place bets or something...although I guess the Giants and Redskins fans are out of it. :P
Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on November 26, 2003, 10:30:48 PM :hmmm: no. I'll root for the upsets by the Giants
Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on November 26, 2003, 10:34:21 PM All I can say is that a few more draft picks like Dayne, and the Giants will really be in the gutter of the division! LOL (This coming from a Packers fan who's team has the same record as Cincinnati).
Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on November 26, 2003, 10:36:36 PM nope. Redskins are worse. Besides since the Dayne pick, the Giants have picked Shockey and cornerback Will Allen in the 1st round and both are Pro Bowlers :P

I was pretty discouraged when I learned that his current injury didn't end his season. That pig-faced jackass. How dare he talk crap about he Eagles secondary!

Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on December 09, 2003, 02:19:05 AM Red Baron, you should be banned from this website, or maybe even banned from life itself, just for being a Giants fan. You deserve a lot of credit for being able to stick with your team, but they're absolutely horrendous. Green Bay has the Cheesehead hats. Philadelphia came out with Cheesesteak hats. I even saw Buffalo fans wearing Buffalo wing hats when they were playing the Jets. The only thing suitable to the Giants would be $hithead hats. I big, round terd on the top of the head of each Giant fan. That is the true representation of their team.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on December 09, 2003, 04:30:37 AM I concur. :P
But it's worthwhile to point out the *cough* Packers *cough* first came up with the idea of wearing a team symbol on their heads! :D Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on December 09, 2003, 01:04:15 PM Oh yeah, I wouldn't take that away from them. Nothing iis quite as good as the cheeseheads...not even the cheesesteak heads.

Ummm... in the 80's??? when was the last time they won one.... wait have they even won one??? try the Giants one in 2000 where they got there by umm... beating the Eagles!!! and the Vikings too, and they were good that year!!! while Giants may suck this year, overall they kick the Eagles's @$$, after all remember when they beat them 8 times in a row??? The most the Eagles have done is 3 or 4!!!
Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on December 10, 2003, 12:50:20 AM I hate when people have to live in the past. It's all about what's happening today my friend. Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on December 10, 2003, 05:08:00 AM But... we all know Cincinnati is gonna win the Super Bowl! LOL

Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on December 11, 2003, 02:34:56 AM don't go raggin on Collins like that. He made some mistakes but he's better now. He started crying when he was interviewed about it.

They ARE still my home team ya know. It's just that with them in the Eagles division I'm forced to hope they lose. Collins, Barber, Toomer, Hilliard... maybe not Strahan... I like all those guys.

Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on December 11, 2003, 12:50:24 PM No, the four division leaders from each conference automatically make the playoffs. Aside from those 8 there are the two teams from each conference with the next best records and these are the 4 wildcard teams. Right now Baltimore is ahead of the Bengals by 1 game in the division.

He really didn't deserve it, cuz the Giants quit on him a while ago, but the frontrunners for the job are Tom Couglhin, Nick Saban, some assistant coach on the Giants, and an assistant coach named Charlie Weis Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on December 18, 2003, 02:15:35 AM I think the move was more for the sake of change than it was for Fassel's coaching abilities. When their offense was doing shitty (last year I think) and Fassel fired the offensive coordinator and took over the spot himself, the Giants starting scoring and everyone thought he was the greatest coach in the world. His players start (or continue) to play like shit and they fire the guy. It's really not fair.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on December 20, 2003, 05:24:03 AM They should just fire the entire team- it's hopeless! The Giants just can't suceed with the people they have now! :P True, Fassel didn't have the best guys, so I guess he was made into a scapegoat. LOL
Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on December 20, 2003, 04:24:23 PM You know what figures...I'd really like the Giants to beat the Cowboys this weekend since it would benefit the Eagles, but the Giants are playing without Collins and Shockey. As much as I hate Shockey and hope his career comes to an end, the Giants don't stand a chance without those two.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on December 22, 2003, 03:42:44 AM I smell a Packers victory against *cough* Oakland tomorrow! :D
Oh and, congrats to the Vikings for beating K.C. I'm glad for them, kinda. ;) Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on December 22, 2003, 10:50:33 PM RED BARON ANGRY!!!
Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on December 23, 2003, 04:27:00 AM Why are you angry? The Giants are getting closer and closer to a top draft pick. Although it is kinda sad they they couldn't score in the second half of their last 4 games.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on December 23, 2003, 05:59:00 AM Speaking of scoring..... How 'bout those Packers!
Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on December 23, 2003, 05:32:43 PM They beat Oakland...woopee. LOL
Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on December 23, 2003, 07:49:56 PM true, true, but i'd rather they beat the Cowboys
Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on December 23, 2003, 11:32:34 PM See RB, we can have a common enemy now.
Title: Football or football? Post by: ns33 on December 24, 2003, 02:25:12 AM NE is 13-2  Am I dreaming??
Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on December 24, 2003, 03:13:47 AM strangely no, my only hope is that Cincinatti gets into the playoffs but they have to win on Sunday and the Raven lose, and some other team has to lose for them to make it.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on December 24, 2003, 05:01:07 AM As long as Green Bay wins the Super Bowl this year, I don't mind what teams get in! :P

Post by: Thamior on December 29, 2003, 05:09:10 AM Not if the Eagles have anything to say about it! With their homefield advantage throughout. LOL It'll be a good playoffs. That's for sure.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on December 29, 2003, 07:17:12 AM Pfft, Eagles. Another one of those NFC East teams doomed to failure. LOL
Actually, I think the NFC will be much more interesting than the AFC. Then again, it always is. :D Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on January 06, 2004, 03:00:19 AM YES THE COWBOYS LOST!!! I'm surprised Lanair hasn't anything about the Packer's win

LOL Title: Football or football? Post by: evilknight on January 10, 2004, 05:36:29 PM WTF?
Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on January 10, 2004, 05:37:56 PM a rubber tuna as in symbolizing Parcells (no idea how he got the nickname Big Tuna)
Title: Football or football? Post by: evilknight on January 10, 2004, 05:55:41 PM yeah....but still. wtf?
Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on January 10, 2004, 06:30:49 PM Carolina caught/overwhelmed/crushed Parcells and his Cowboys, just like the panther is doing to the tuna. ;)
It's really cool. :D Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on January 11, 2004, 04:18:34 AM man the Panthers-Rams game was great!!!

Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on January 12, 2004, 04:38:01 AM Packers lost. I'm just going to hide in a dark corner for the next week, only coming out to voice my hatred of the Eagles :(
Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on January 12, 2004, 09:52:06 PM Quote Packers lost. I'm just going to hide in a dark corner for the next week, only coming out to voice my hatred of the Eagles :( i hate the Eagles too, but Favre blew the game Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on January 12, 2004, 11:59:39 PM Well if it's any consolation to you if the Eagles were to lose I wanted the Packers to go all the way. Brett Favre is a great quarterback and after everything that's happened to him I would have liked to see Green Bay win it all. Not to mention the fact that the Panthers, Patriots, and Colts disgust me.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on January 13, 2004, 04:36:42 AM Thanks for the support. Now I want Carolina to CRUSH the Eagles. :D
Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on January 13, 2004, 07:11:12 PM Well before the playoffs even started my friends asked me how I thought the Eagles would do. I said they'd lose in the NFC Championship for the third straight year...so I wouldn't doubt that they'll lose. You never know with football.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on January 15, 2004, 05:39:19 AM ????
Ok, as long as they lose, I'll be happy. LOL Title: Football or football? Post by: opperdude on January 18, 2004, 02:59:27 PM i saw like my first american football match :) green bay vs. philadelphia, and i can say that favre fucked up
Title: Football or football? Post by: matt_the_shark on January 18, 2004, 03:52:51 PM yeah, that was horrible. he threw it way above the guy's head and RIGHT TO A PHILLY PLAYER!!!
oh well, everyone messes up sometime (except for me :P) Title: Football or football? Post by: Lord Lanair on January 19, 2004, 06:52:57 AM I'm sure he had some reason for doing that. <_<
But..... PHILADELPHIA LOST!!!!!! :D Pity N.E. won (I don't like them either), so I hope Carolina goes all the way. :D Title: Football or football? Post by: Thamior on January 19, 2004, 06:35:36 PM I have to cheer for Carolina as well. I hate when teams hog the Lombardi Trophy like the Pats are about to do. Carolina doesn't have a chance in hell. The Eagles played the worst game I've ever seen. They had tons of chances and blew them all. Receivers don't get open...Quarterbacks force passes...that's how interceptions happen. I put blame on both. At least Freddie Mitchell came to play. As soon as McNabb went out I knew all chances of a miracle were out the window. Who ever heard of Koy Detmer making a miraculous comeback? At least there's always next year when the Eagles lose in the NFC Championship again.
Title: Football or football? Post by: Saladin on January 20, 2004, 02:40:34 AM hopefully to the Giants ;)
Title: Football or football? Post by: matt_the_shark on January 21, 2004, 05:47:01 AM /me looks around and sees that no one's paying attention
