topic numero uno for this area!
ok, starcraft is my favorite game on the pc, right up there with worms. it's fairly basic, easy to catch on too, but fairly difficult to master. i personally favor the terrans, with their armies of seige tanks and wraiths and such. how about you guys?

never could get into starcraft......when it came to those games i was always a big fan of warcraft 2 and command and conquer red alert

yeah, command and conquer is ok, but i always had a thing against warcraft. ive always felt that they were ripping off starcraft. but that cant be it, cause it's made by the same company.

Someone wanna tell me what Starcraft is EXACTLY? What makes it diffrent, what is the reason I should buy it? Can I find you people on there (or say people are you) and blow you up? Can I make myself run in circles screaming the chickens are coming, the chickens are coming?

its an RTS game, basically where you are in control of a base of a chosen race.  there are three races, terran (humans) zerg (weird looking biological aliens) and Protoss (cool looking Physic aliens).  Your goal is to build up your base, and be able to destroy enemy bases.

you wouldn't find me on starcraft, only cause my stinking CD won't let me play the game on my comp it got scratched up, but i am on diablo 2 exp. a lot, and all the people playing games on b.net can talk to each , oh, i play on the U.S. East server

ooo I love Diablo i'm gonna start a  thread in it's honor :lol:   Don't buy starcraft it sux but Warcraft now that is a good game

Starcraft ownz.  I agree with u evilknight, terran best.  You just got to love mass wraith and battlecruiser armies...with a group of siege tanks on the ground...mmm....anywho, are u still playing on b.net?  I like warcraft III as well, been playing that a lot lately.  it's a bit easier to get good at than Starcraft was, which is annoying, but it has some really cool stuff in it. (eg. heroes and all the magic crap, plus the fact ive always loved medi-evil games more than space ones).

I loved C&C when it was around.  Covert Operations, the add-on, was sooo good.  then gay red-alert came out, and it was crap...then all the other crap came out slowly, RA2 and Yuri's Revenge, both sucked.  Original C&C was the best.  C&C Renegade was also crap, hated that game, hopefully Generals will be better.

you're right. the only dissapointment to the C&C series was the N64 version. it sucked

lol, who plays console anyway??  hehehehe....last console i owned was a SEGA!  damn that thing was good.  I had Sonic the Hedgehog, Alex the Kid and Mortal Kombat!  Best games ever...

ah, sonic the hedgehog.... boy does that bring back memories. never did beat the game. sonic the hedgehog, battletoads, battletoads2, battletoads and double dragons, sonic spinball, teenage mutant ninja turtle battle arena, doctor robotnics mean bean steaming machine, boy those were all great games.  

mmm...i remember sonic spinball in particular.  the only other thing ive had...besides SEGA and my comp. was an Amiga.  It was like an old computer that was only made for playing games.  It had your usual keyboard and mouse, and you could hook up the sega controllers to it as well.  There was no windows or anything like that...just game disks that you inserted.  We had 3 really cool games:
Spinball (a collection of 4 pinball games that just rocked complete arse)
Dungeon Master (the best RPG EVER!!!)
Super Cars 2 (the best car game ever...all the cars are loaded with missiles and jumppacks and all that, and you just wage war on each other as you try to complete the race first...hehehehhe, the good ole days)

Sonic ruled!  he was awesome.  The best was 2, cause there were cheats that allowed you to become super sonic!

as for cheats, i had a real good one for the original sonic the hedgehog. it let u skip levels, become invincible, and even edit the terrain or add/subtract enemies. in other words, pretty much editing mode.

Starcraft is my favorite game ever. It's always the first I install when I re-install Windows. :P I'd have to say I liked the Zerg. They're only good if you know how to use them, and most people don't. With the other races, units are precious, and you want to preserve them, but with Zerg, you have to throw hundreds of units against the enemy, and keep attacking constantly. It's a very different style of gameplay than Terran and Protoss.

well duh, every race has a different way of playing. the zerg are a swarming race, the terren are semi-swarming, with a few high powered units, and the protoss are filled with high powered units

heh...400 zerg zerglings XD ...classy...but i always thought the terrans were the best...they've got power, strategy, and swarming if you feel like it...very cool...

ah yeah...gotta love the nukes...everyone needs nukes  

ah yes, the nuke. whenever i play a newbie, i use nukes. i just set up a base outside of theirs to contain them, then i just get a few nukes and BAM! instant win

mmm...i sucked at starcraft, never got into it properly.  i got into warcraft II a lot, and owned that.  i tried warcraft III for a month or two, got to about level 12 and then quit cos it wasnt as fun as SF or WCII.  strategy games are wearing out on me for some reason, waiting for something new and amazing, (but not something from westwood!)

to be honest i'm not really all too good at starcraft....i'm alright at tactical combat, good use of units etc. but base building is where i really just die on my knees...

i Love star craft.. but i suck at star craft i only play use map setting games. LOL there the only things i'm good at. i like ter. the best.. protoss comes next.. it's fun thth the protoss cannons... get a shitload, and nothing an stop you.. but then again.. swarming rines with stimpack.... is such a sweet thing, nothing better than having zerg for breakfast.. unless it's orc.  :D  

I don't really like SC all that much. I've played it a ton, and got pretty decent, but all I do now is the occasional mod map at LAN parties. On the rare occasion that I'm not playing some mod map, I play Toss--a nice fleet of Carriers can really school the opponents.

starcraft is a great game but i really enjoy playing command and conquer....anyone play the latest one. :miffed:  

its uh...not so good, absolutely no tactics, its all about who's got more stuff...

stick with Yuri's revenge, its a classic

If any race, I'll pick Terran, for the Cruisers and Siege Tanks.  But there are almost no unit tactics in SC, just rushing, nuking, and swarming.  It should be that terrain gives you tactical advantage, formations, better unit control... or maybe I'm just a control freak.

Before i was grounded, i was in the top 1000 list for ladder.

I had to play a ton because of the cheaters out there.

If i get my computer game back, i would like to challenge you knightinferno.

I give up on ladder because it is cheap, and means nothing.
