Hmm Auron u didn't seem o get emperor's point.
If u do sabotage check sabotaged weapons immediately disappear, no time to sell them.
Since these weapons will be destroyed in battlefield anyway, why pay to do it?
The only reason I can see is if u r about to attack a very big guy and u want to check your weapons work well.

In fact this is exactly how it works ndsap. As correctly stated the bigger the difference between your army and the one of the guy u attack the more gold u steal.
Try to attack people who have at least 125% of your army.

I have heard that too, in fact I am pretty sure it is like so, but it is very hard to be unsabbable: to acieve that u need:
104000 spies lvl 0 (LOL ) or
813 spies lvl7 or
407 spies lvl 8 or
204 spies lvl 9 or
102 spies lvl 10

Too few people can afford these

 

I see too many people who's biggest attack has not given them more than 50k and I find this strange.
As I have noticed, even if u r ranked 120000 or so, it is not that hard to find a player with more army than u and more than 60-70k gold. A successful attack on such a guy should give around 80% of his gold.
My record is: 174,301 gold (15 attack turns)

I find sabotage by far the most annoying. The rest (cheaters and server problems/bug) have always existed in the previous ages and in other similar games too, we have got used to all of them, but this sabotage is a new feature.
