With no mercs I'm trying to be very selective in attacking people
         

I'm currently buying knives for upgrade, right now at 3031. At 1000 per knife the math is easy for figuring out how many you can buy at any time. Also the knives don't influence your ratings much so your not dissapointed when you sell them off.    

So far I agree with smi256 that unit production is a waste
but with no mercs  and my affinity for attacking people (and therefor losing soldiers) I might reconsider.

I think I'm finally going to give in and get level 10 covert. CA is my worst ranking and to get to the three digit rankings I think I need it.

For me to repair battleaxes it's just over 33K per point so if I go with 1 attack turn even if I win I lose money. Live off farms so I don't have to use the 1 turn to see if I can beat them.    

It might not be the smart way to play but I love to attack people    :rolleyes:  you don't get all the great messages from other players by sitting back and spending TBG

I've been trying to be patient and my average is pretty good now  
For the real high dollars > 1mil my timing sucks. Three times I've found people with big money only to have them spend it as I attacked so I get almost nothing.  :angry:  

have cannons with 391 battleaxes and SA ranking still only 473.

But at least you used yours when you could.      The admins may never figure out the merc situation and then our estimeed cohorts may never use their attack turns.  :hehe:  

I think a number of players are going to level ten thinking they can then cheaply( the cost of spies) increase their ranking at the end of the age. It will be interesting to see what happens.  :rolleyes:  

To me it seemed like things were actually working for a few days. Any idea what changed? Phase of the moon? Sun spots? smi256 saving so many attack turns computer cant count that high?

Depends on if you have attack turns to burn. I to always try 1 turn first but the weapon damage and soldiers lost seems as great with 1 turn as with 15, and with never enough gold back to cover it. If I had over 1000 attack turns I might waste them and go with 15, after all some people will end the age with lots of attack turns left.

they probably decided (incorrectly I assume) that with your CA high enough to catch their spies your DA couldn't be that high.

A lot more than 22. I wanted to be in top 500 SA and just accomplished that. It took around 285 battleaxes. Attack sprees are now getting less fun with weapon damage piling up. I know you repair by buying new weapons but I hate waiting on TBG to buy weapons.  Had to be more selective attacking people. Luckily TGA has an excellent farm list and using that I doubled the average gold I get with attacks.
