It seems to really enjoy teasing us, doesn't it?  I logged in, checked my attack and intelligence logs, did a few AA link clicks, and then when I go to armoury to spend my built up money it all of a sudden gives me the 'Cannot find server' pages.  Grrr...

He attacked me, I tried attacking him but his defense was high, so I sabbed some to be able to attack him in retaliation.  He kept it up in return so it was just back and forth for a while, and in total I got that many of his weapons.

At first I just sabbed him out of reaction but he persisted in attacking me and sabbing me so I just kept it going.  In total I'd say we're even, when he stopped hitting me I stopped hitting him.  Sorry if I wasn't clear about that.  I don't sab people out of hand like that unless I have to, and in this instance I felt justified because there was no way for me to attack him to retaliate, so I thought I'd try sabbing.  My question was on the basis of if this happens again in the future and I need to mass sab because someone is doing something to justify a mass sab, then how would I go about doing it without losing too many spies in the process?  I don't want to know so I can just go do it, I want to know in case I have to do it someday.  I won't abuse it if that's the worry.

I think some very important points have been raised here, and some excellent ideas suggested.  I saw nothing wrong with the idea of level limits in Age 1, in theory, but yes, it was frustrating being attacked endlessly on the lower end without being able to retaliate.  I thought Age 2 would work well with a level limit, once outside that range you can't attack them, but you can still sab them to retaliate.  You're not robbing some little army, but you're still able to stomp some ants if need be.  I'm not sure exactly where they want Age 2 to end up, but the way it is now, I'm sure they're alienating a good portion of the players of the game, what with the constant database errors and "readjustments" of the rules, it's totally changing the game that I'm sure many liked upon first glance.

OK until I can get to the Fortress, is there anyway someone can help me out on these forums as far as how many spies to send for what at a certain Covert level?  I'd really appreciate it.  Thanks in advance.

The most depressing loss for me was when I checked in the morning and saw that I had about 100,000 gold saved up, and thought, I'll wait till after class to spend it, because I should have over 167,000 by then.  Came home after class and looked and saw that I had somewhere in the 180,000 range, and I went to buy a dragonskin, and it told me I didn't have enough.  I checked my attack log and someone had just hit me 10 seconds ago for 160,000 gold.  Pissed me off something fierce, and that's when I sold all my attack weapons and spent it all on covert so I could sab the guy.  So far I sabbed at least 20 of his dragonskins, but it's slow going sending 10 spies to destroy 1 dragonskin.  If I try to up the ante and send 20 spies to destroy 2 dragonskins they get caught.  That's why I wondered if there was a tried and true method of knowing how many spies to send for which and how many weapons.  If anyone could help me out here instead of referring me to the Fortress, to which I don't yet have access, I'd greatly appreciate it.

5 attack turns... hrm... guess people will think 5 times before sabbing now, eh?

OK, that was corny but it needed to be said.

I still can't complain.  Sab really needed some adjustment.  Not saying that it's adjusted right now, but it needed something.  We'll see if it effectively controls Sab now.

First of all, whatever is causing all this sucks a**.

Secondly, the game, as of right now, the way it's running, sucks a**.

Ok I've vented.  It takes a lot of fine tuning to get the dynamics of all this programming just right, so I can be patient.  I know I don't have what it takes to program like that, and if someone else can, then more power to them and I'll stay out of their way.  Just my 2 cents.

Finally, FIX THE GAME!!!

As of right now KoC seems to be running fine... although I'm guessing it didn't get fixed until not too long ago, because I haven't accumulated as much turn based gold as I normally do after work.  Oh well.  Anyone else?

When I log on I check my armoury, and repair anything that needs repairing using turn-based gold.  Then I check the attack log and see who's been naughty while I've been away.  Then I check Intelligence and see who needs a spanking.  After I make whatever retaliatory moves I'm going to make, I go back and check my armoury and repair everything again and log off.  That way, when I log back in, and go straight to armoury again, I know if someone's been naughty again.   Wink

Actually, may would be used to indicate possibility, and will indicates intention.

So, I may fill your mouth with water would have been more correct.

Just my 2 cents, I think anything they do to decrease the potential damage of Sab is good.  Sab is way too powerful as it is, you can send someone literally back to nothing with enough spies and attacks.  Most of the upgrades in game are too expensive at the higher levels, requiring that you have an insane turn-based income, because if you get your money from attacking people you run the risk of losing everything you have gained.  Then again, you still run that risk even without provoking others, but at least now they have to spend an extra attack on you and hopefully that will discourage them from doing so.

I noticed the DB errors and the turn-based gold and attacks last night.   All I can say is, it's not the end of the world, the game will go on eventually.  They are expected to have some glitches, computers and programming are definitely not perfect.  Cest la vi, or however that's spelled.
