uh... i see that i didnt understand your question...
i thought you ment the overall size of your army, not how many soldiers you can have every 24 hours..
i think there's a limit 2 this in age 2
but i dont know it...

Limit is 10. And it would  certainly not be worth it to go more as cost doubles after every level. getting it to 10 costs 5,120,000 gold.

As said above, its the same limits and cost scale as Spy levels.

TEN?!?  Are you sure?     Because that's way unfair.  Now, the people who have the most officers (or get the most clicks) will have a huge advantage.  Grrrr.  :boo:

I think that was that way always, and here much more, because you get much more turn money per soldier :paranoid:

in Age1 it was 12 per soldier(15 for humans) in Age2 it is 50(63 for humans) it would be hard to get more than 10  and i don't think people would spend 10 mil just for one more soldier

Well, if they didn't charge *cough* outrageous *cough* prices for upgrading troop production, and allowed more soldiers per turn, it would make the game much better.  <_<

Wasn't unit production maxed to like 22 a day or something in Age 1?  10 really does suck, makes it so you have to rely on clicks to grow substantially.  When I had 22 units a day coming in it was enough for me to not have to beg everyone I saw online to click my link.  Here lately that's just what I've been doing... "Hey do you have a couple minutes?  Can you do this extremely mundane task of click, wait for the server, keep waiting, yeah the server's have been down lately, what do you mean don't IM you anymore?  I thought we were friends?!?"  Needless to say, I wasn't getting alot of clicks...

*shakes fist silently at server outages of the past week*

yeah 10 maximum sucks but you've gotta remember that in Age 1 the more soldiers you had the better your rank was, in Age 2 the numbers of your army aren't that important and maybe because of that the admins decided to limit it to 10 soldiers every 24 hours...

actually, the amount of soldiers matter a lot in this age, even more so than Age 1... (although army size affected directly in your ranking in Age 1)
and this fact is one of the many reasons why so many people are resorting to link-trading, and the main reason being that link-trading is the only remaining option to raise soldiers fast and easily, and thus gold per turn

i totally agree, turn gold is very important in Age 2 cause usually it is hard to find someone that gives you more of money with 1 attack turn than you get every half an hour.

I wasn't a part of age 1, so I can't really comment about that but from what I've seen of this age it seems they have tried to get some semblance of balance.

If you didn't have to pay the seemingly large amounts of gold upgrade unit production, then everybody starting the game would have massive armies before they had the DA to protect their turn gold. While that could make things a bit more interesting for those on the prowl for gold, I think the way they've set it up forces people to think about different strategies and provides a number of options. That adds variability and brings a bit more depth to the game.

Hmph!  It prevents me from getting a lot of turn gold without working for it.  <_<  LOL

True, but if it were that easy, would you really get as much out of the game??  :)

Especially considering that everybody else would be in the same boat and you would have no real advantage...
