this probably doesnt warrant a new topic, but what the hell, i can always get rid of it later.
anyways, here's the thing. my harddrive is a measly 38Gb, and it's become full of uhhhh.....pictures, yeah. therefore, i need to get a bigger hardrive. my question is, is there a way to transfur my important files/pictures over to another hardrive, or would i have to go and resave everything off of the internet?

transfer. And yes.
But it requires having both HDDs running in parallel.
If you've not done hardwarey stuff before you might want to ask someone who has to do it for you.
