IDK why they culled the portals down when they moved them to Pokestops, but there's currently nothing for me to do except collect mons in the hopes for a high level/rarity. I'm not sure if there's any real content, though it is a mildly entertaining incentive to get out of the house regularly.

Round here we call that a job. (Though I do wish the entertainment aspect wasn't because laughing is preferable to crying. Undecided)


There has to be a way to run Android in a VM with fake GPS/sensors so I can write a script to play the game for me, without actually going anywhere.

You absolutely can, I know of Mobizen off the bat and spoofing your GPS location is old hat if you're rooted.
