hey SS, this topic mainly for you, but also for anyone else who can actually answer.  Im wondering why you choose to use Cold Fusion.  i dont actually know much about it, ive never really looked into it.  i know html and basic java script, and im just wondering what the pro's and con's of CF are...

on another short note, what did you use to write Ri'thanlian?  is it C++ or something else?

Why ColdFusion? Because out of CF, PHP and ASP it is the easiest and quickest to use, and scales very well. It does all the ugly code behind the scenes (unlike PHP & ASP) and doesn't make your pages look all cut up, because it uses tag-based syntax for everything, but still gives you the option of CFScript if you want to. It's also got the best name. Cheesy
The only real downside is that it can be expensive, whilst PHP and ASP are free.

Ri'than lian is being done in Delphi, which I prefer over C++ for similar reasons as I prefer CF to PHP. Smiley

Well according to the website this was their first PHP project, and it is kinda really obviously blatant that this is true. Tongue

As well it should. KoC should never have gone further than an Alpha test in its current state, it needs a major rewrite, and now.

No, the funny thing isn't that IE is shite, the funny thing is that no matter how shite IE is, the other browsers always seem to be worse! ^_^

The only time I use Mozilla is when I know I'm going to get popups; ie: Kings of Chaos and Tripod/Angelfire/etc pages. And for testing my websites, which I test to make sure they work in IE, Lynx & Mozilla, then test with Opera to make sure they don't work. ^_^
