Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne
no competition...just so smooth...so dynamic
going back to generals after playing Frozen Throne is like using double velvet toilet paper...then reverting back to sandpaper

Actually thinking about it now, with Tenser's transformation...a Sorcerer is also quite feasible. What Prestiege classes should I take for a pure spellcasting type?
Also, another thing. All these hakpaks for Avlis confuse me. Is there some sort of big hakpak I can just download and install alone?
an erm....i also need help to fill in the form >.< I don't really know what it is these roleplayers are looking for...never roleplayed before in my life O.o;

ok I'm going to apply to Avlis
but I'd like some help to create a character. Since the PvP settings are full and I want to get involved in that, I can't just create a random character that I think is fun...he has to be fully optimised.
What I think would be quite fun it play is a rogue type character, dealing out huge damages using critical hits and sneak/death attacks. Since we want lots of critical hits, dual wielding is necessary. But in the end I think it comes down to either the Weaponmaster or the Assassin. I am still uncertain of the exact progression that I should take, or if the Assassin is actually any good.
Help would be very much appreciated

I've got NWN and both expansion packs recently...although tbh I don't care too much for the main storylines, what interests me most are the persistent worlds, it seems to me everything a MMORPG is striving to be. so far i'm considering playing in Three Towns: http://www.trustinginthefuture.com/3towns/However, I suspect I will only have time to play in one of these places. I would like to pick the biggest/baddest most kickass persistent world there is. Are there any choices that stand out above the crowd? Is there a definitive site labeling the pros and cons of each persistent world? Advice would be good...I'd hate to train my weaponmaster up to level 40 only to find the world i'm on is a pile of crap

its not that expensive...you can pay for it outta your allowance no probs anyway
**The following will contain extensive use of profanities and just overall crude language. Sorry, its the only way I can express my feelings towards this game. Don't look if you don't wanna...its mainly ranting.**
I'll start by bashing the game's designers. These people are the guys who made warcraft...at best... Why? because the guys who made diablo, starcraft and warcraft left to make arenanet. Hrm...that means what...the guys from blizzard who really know how to make a good RPG has buggered off. But why they went is more important, the reason there being that apparently they had different views on the course of the company. Ok, that bit's over...its all politics anyway, whats really in the game counts right?
Lets look at the technical aspects. This is a MMORPG that runs on what can only be described as a heavily modified warcraft III engine. If you were wondering why this game packed so little in the way of graphics...theres your answer. It also shows itself in some other aspects such as music and networking. In addition to being totally graphically underwhelming...it runs like poo, I find it hard to believe a machine that can run Doom III on high settings (full textures/lighting) is unable to run this thing on full. The artwork is good and immersive yes, but damn I find it hard to be immersed when people runa round looking like mickey mouse in a suit of shitty textures.
Customer service. The lag at the event was terrible, I suspect this was mainly/all server side lag. Its understandable for a MMORPG, Guild Wars had it too. Difference being, Guild Wars had it fixed in an hour, the "fixing" of WoW consisted of making people queue up for a place in the server. Also...making someone download a client thats roughly speaking 2.5 gigs large (can't remember exact) with what can only be described as a backshafted version of bittorrent is like stealing people's babies. In addition to this...the blizzard guys in charge consistently lie to the community about whats going on in terms of the shards, the networking scandal...if you can get them to talk at all. Course...this dosen't matter if the game is amazing, look at total annihilation...the developers were complete pricks (sued, banned mods) yet people still loved the game.
Now the meat of the matter...the game. WoW is a traditional MMORPG...which ain't bad if you like that sort of stuff, but its certainly not bringing in any new customers. The gameplay consists of lots of fetching...lots of killing the same stuff/stronger stuff/even stronger stuff in exactly the same ways...lots of delivering...and generally being spoken to like everyone else in the game all the while wondering when that ogre leader will respawn because you've been waiting in line for 20 minutes trying to get a kill. Goddamn that bores me...that makes me wanna drill holes in my nostrils and snort sand. These Blizzard boys are still in the school of thought: "monthly fees x amount of customer's time wasted = $$$ for me". I don't find having my time wasted to be enjoyable...i got over that after Kings of Chaos.
Yeah thats about it....feel a lot better now...

I caught the tail end...I was busy the rest of the time...
oh btw my guild is looking for
1) warrior/monk OR warrior/necro tank character. Damage is not important, we will provide you with backup and signets to deal out death. Taking tons of damage and not going down is very important indeed. BTW your warrior class better not use hammers because they've been nerfed, healing signet is no longer in there.
2) mesmer/monk for a buff and background healing character. When I say mesmer/monk i mean inspiration/healing preferrably with some fast casting and "other" skills thrown in
3) a behind-the-lines killer. His job is to slaughter the enemy support casters (monk/mesmer/maybe elementalist?) Not too sure what classes this will be...or indeed what the guild is really looking for. I'm thinking Ranger and another class...perhaps necro or Ranger/Mesmer
tell me what you're playing...maybe we'll hook up in the game.

BPSITE / BPSITE Headquarters / Proxy sites

I have a rather devious plan in the works...but I need a working proxy site...there was a webpage posted earlier with a bunch of them listed, but I don't have the URL anymore
I know a few closed down recently, so if anyone has a nice proxy site that they use (no downloads) or even one that they don't use...I'd be grateful
