If I go somewhere on my birthday, I can't make it. If I don't go somewhere I can. If I'm invited to my friend's birthday stand and a do stuff, I can't.

How are we going to convert people to WoT if you say things like that! :hmmm: I'm not trying to convert people to WoT. ![Tongue](http://old.bpsite.net/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) I'll only convert 11 year olds who probably won't read it. Cause... I read them when I was 11. ![Shocked](http://old.bpsite.net/smf/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) I'm trying to convert people to Thomas Covenant.

And where would you recommend me look for such books SS? ![Tongue](http://old.bpsite.net/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) If there isn't a copy at Waldenbooks, I have to go upstate to Barnes and Noble. I'm just wishing I finished reading the WoT books when I was 11. ![Tongue](http://old.bpsite.net/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Because then I wouldn't need to rant about Rand. I think after I finish Crown of Swords I'm gunna read some Thomas Covenant to reverse all the damage Rand did to my mind.

I don't CARE if he's the dragon! I don't care WHO he has to defeat. He's got enough bloody power, lets just fling him out there, and kill the Dark One now instead of waiting for him to come visit.
I like trials and struggles and hard times for characters. It usually disgusts me when power is just plopped into their hands and they can do whatever they damn well please with it, but they don't get to the point and kill the badguys. I usually don't care if people are powerful, but he... he didn't work at it. And it disgusts me. Just Poof, he can do what he pleases. A character (Yes, I'm dragging TCTC in here because its the closest thing) similar to Rand in power is Thomas Covenant. He could just destroy the whole world with the flick of his wrist... but he doesn't know how. Thats what I like. I want heros to shout at other heros, saying they can't do what they want. I want power, but inability to use power without working towards knowledge. Heros with unlimited power handed to them now seem very, very shallow and childish. Sorta like the Matrix. But thats half and half. I WANT HEROS WHO CAN'T JUST SUDDENLY USE THEIR POWER WHENEVER THEY WANT TO ANY SORT OF EXTENT! *grumble*
