The Great Alliance / The Great City / Round Table on KOC

Uh... I'm in charge of recruiting in this forum (among other things in the Fortress that I took up), but GUA isn't one of them... I was wondering who was supposed to take care of over there as well.
Personally, I'm wondering what the other guys are actually doing and in charge of...

but remember that the KoC admins removed the army size restriction near the end of Age 1... don't assume that they won't mess around majorly when it's close to the end................... anywho, the people talking about Age 3 are NOT the KoC admins from what I've seen, they're all just players speculating without any valid proof from the admins... if anything, all that the people are talking about are *preparations* for Age 3.

You don't get booted for not posting (I think). At most, if you just leave the rest of us a message saying you're gonna be gone, that will be enough. Yuppers. At least I certainly don't have the permission to boot anyone off the alliance... I believe that's something Auron/Rug and SS decides. And most likely they'll boot only for the extreme cases (traitor, enemy, attacking non-orcs without them starting the fight), not for a mere vacation or not posting... In the case of prospective recruits, though, that's a different matter: If over a month passes by without them posting a thing, they deserve to be booted off. It's a clear evidence of not committed to the game.

Actually, not exactly Inktank per se, but rather the Inktank Alliance. I believe you're referring to the following announcement: November 3rd, 2003 After review, clickmaster.com and zeta.ionetworksolutions.com/inktank/, as well as two alliance sites have been unblocked. We apologize for much of the confusion in the past few days regarding these sites and pledge to make a concerted effort for more consistent policies in the future. I'd like to know exactly what clickmaster.com the announcement is talking about... (I tried www.clickmaster.com ... I don't think that's what they had in mind...) And what're these "two alliance sites"?

There are mainly three requirements for being accepted: 1. Activity 2. Frequency 3. Loyalty And these are the questions I ask myself as I look at each and every applicant according to the above requirements: 1. Are you active in the forums? Do you post at least every few days? 2. Do you visit the forums even if you don't post? How often during the week? 3. Do you still come around for weeks? Are you committed? Are you acting respectably as a possible future TGA member? Try asking yourself the above, if you answer "no" to any part of the questions, that's most likely the reason.

 ..... People really need to read the posts that are in the *same* thread... (Pokes opperdude) <_< You know better than to do something like that. Now, please don't take offense for a simple misunderstanding, Thamior :miffed: And Arantor, even if you aren't planning to join TGA, you are welcome in the Great City public forums. Ok? *shakes hands with everyone*

Initially for me, level 10 was necessary because it's between losing 100+ money-making soldiers and losing a few million-worth of dragonskins for sab-immune CA. I'd rather discard dragonskins than soldiers.
Those people that already have sab-immune CA have far less of a pressing need for spylevel 10. (and the only two valid remaining reasons are: higher CA ranking; better sabbing abilities)

With the new server, I think the site gets massive errors/lags when it refreshes the rankings... EVERY SINGLE TIME. Doesn't matter what time of the day, night, midnight, noon, etc. Every 1hr or so, a few minutes into the hour, lag.

The Great Alliance / The Great City / Recruiters
|

In reply to the idea that recruiters introduce more people to the ads: Wrong. The very idea of recruiters themselves is to make people concentrate on clicking the recruit links, NOT the ads. Therefore, there's less chance/likelihood that people would bother clicking any of the ads.
Think about it, would you be clicking the ads while you're going on a clicking rampage? Would you be bothering to buy some of the stuff they're offering when you'd rather be clicking for credits that can get you more soldiers? I doubt that, and neither would I be doing any of these things.
And so, it sure wouldn't pay the advertisers, and the bandwidth will continue to get eaten up.
The argument that the servers are laggy already? That's not an excuse to allow public recruiters. Every additional clicks through these recruiters add to the bandwidth usage. Having masses of people clicking through recruiters will only worsen the situation(like it was before).
Recruiters giving level playing-field for other players? Um, go take a look at LordStriker before saying much more. Recruiters *can* be rigged, there have been cheaters bypassing the army-size checks, they *can* give ridiculously unfair advantages to a privileged few, and worsen the lot for the peasantry.
A server that can handle recruiters? I don't think getting a few more servers is the only problem here... Sure, more servers mean more power to handle users, but that won't help much if the connection is already being used up by the thousands of people a minute accessing the site. What I'm imagining as necessary is a secondary server (or group of servers) with its own separate connection that automatically diverts some of the users into it when the main one(or group of servers) has its connection filled up.

overall rank of 7,289 at the moment, only because i bothered to buy 2 flaming arrows rather recently... otherwise, i'd still have been back down at around 10k... don't let the overall rank deceive you i'll be starting to buy more flaming arrows after i gain another 500 soldiers or so...
