You can't stay in the top ranks with out being sabatoged to nothingness if you don't have decent CA. I think the best strategy is to simultaneously raise defense and CA. That way you start to get to keep more of you turn gold and are building a protection fror when CA will eventually make the difference.

Post by: whiteknight on September 15, 2003, 05:07:12 AM i'm ranked about 140 overall right now, with my SA ranked 119, DA ranked 1220, and CA ranked 682. theres no real trick to getting a higher overall rank, you just build all 3 categories at roughly the same rate. However, at this point i'm trying to actually avoid getting higher, at least for a while. At one point i was ranked 42 overall and got my butt sabbed into the ground. The higher you go, the more attention the higher ranked (and generally better players) give you.....which is not generally a good thing. So, i've let my DA lapse behind my SA in the hopes that i'll be able to raise my spylevel without rasing my rank.....its a gamble, but we'll see

Then some guy attacked me for 12,000 gold which was a big deal to me. I got pissed off and went on a rage where I used all my attack turns to attack 12 different orcs for over 600,000 gold. That day I went from Spy level 0 to 4, camp to towers, no siege to battering ram, and even got a flaming arrow, a steed, and some elven cloaks. Finally I know which people I should be attacking and I can benefit from it. :sheep:

With 16 CA turns a day for 1 person, they could only take out a max of 16 skins. And then I guess I would see 16 skins go poof and increase my CA. But that hasn't happened yet, and I've attracted quite a few of the top 100ish people.

I took advantage of KOC's downtime by immediately attacking everyone and everybody with money and even though somebody nabbed me before I could spend it all (they turned the armoury off, but still let you attack) and stole 700+K, I now have 16 more Excals, taking me from 27 to 43, and now ranked in the top 3800 for SA.
