Sunny?... The sun it burns!!
Spoken like a true Californian   it's only in the high 90s / low 100s :D .
My house doesn't have AC :( and I'm not home to open and close windows to keep it cool in here :(

100 fahrenheit ~= 37.8 centigrade.

ya, the wind only picks up in the evening (normally), but dies when the sun has set.
For all my classes and useful things, we use Centigrade, but for everyday stuff we use Farenheit. ;) don't ask, I don't know...

Do you have a high definition copy of that photo?  If so, I might be able to edit them out for you, and tweak a few other things too.

high definition as in the jumbo size it starts as? cause i use flickr and they shrunk it down automatically....

i don't think my camera has any special high defintion stuff...i wish i knew, i'm a dumbass. 6 megapixel though... :)

It's probably huge then. :)  How big is the image (as in filesize)?

Title: Montana Time
Post by: SS on July 07, 2006, 06:37:25 PM
Filesize will probably be between 300KB to 1.5MB if he used JPG, or 6MB if his camera does RAW.
And it'll be around 3036x2012 (probably a little less) in dimensions.

Galmort:
Get a copy of Paint Shop Pro X - it's got lots of tools for fixing photos. :)

Such as the scratch remover which (combined with a bit of softening) can take out those powerlines in under thirty seconds...

Also fiddled a bit with brightness/contrast and enhancing the colours in the sky. :)
Far from perfect, but shows the sort of thing that can be done relatively easily.

Hmmm, if you've got the original and wanted to, we could have a "who can fix Galmorts photo the best" competition? :D

Not sure.

I can only think it was because I was walking one way in the morning and the other way in the afternoon, so one arm was always shaded by my body.

What's naughty about clocks, radios (both contain quartz), jigsaws or tuning forks, then?  Although, this being you, I probably shouldn't ask.

And in response to your last post, that question was supposed to be rhetorical.  I suspect that she was under a rock though, having just finished a rendition.  </injoke>

Title: Montana Time
Post by: mole on July 28, 2006, 01:27:52 PM
:hmmm: you cant just use things with quartz as vibrating if your going to do that you have to include everything above 0 K

Title: Montana Time
Post by: Hornet on July 28, 2006, 03:47:06 PM

Good point, although quartz has a useful application, and is manufactured specifically to vibrate at a certain speed.  Atoms in general just happen to do so.

Title: Montana Time
Post by: mole on July 28, 2006, 04:42:50 PM
crystal also is used in a similar way though not for time keeping, it relies on forced oscilations

Now the thread has educational value. Academic porn is not cheap. In fact, it is 15% more expensive, in order to pay the professionals who write it. In this case, the speller and grammararian charged 37%. 15% each, 5% working-together fee, and an extra 2% because there were no mathematicians to point out to the client that 15% + 15% does not equal 37%.
