not the usual quality of animal pictures we're subjected to in this section but nice none the less (not being dodgy)

My sister had one; a miniature dwarven russian hamster.  The best part was that I didn't have to take care of it.  :P

No... I've never quite seen the attraction in them.  They're small and fluffy, fair enough, but they don't do much other than sleep and sometimes move food around the cage.   And they're highly anti-hamster themselves, whereas rats are far more active, very intelligent, and highly social.

In other news, I've just aquired a new rat, named Rolo, after being offered him whilst standing at a bus stop with the other five (taking them to the pet shop to be rat-sat for a few days (I spent last weekend in London)).  But he's a male rat, and so has to be kept seperately for obvious reasons.  The current plan is to breed them once or twice, and then have him castrated and put him in with the females, as rats really shouldn't be kept on their own.

Anyway, as I initially intended to say, I'll put up some photos of him later; he's very photogenic. :)

if by get it, you mean hit it.. then yes.  both shots were taken at point blank.. maybe 8-12 inches from the racoon.  the first one made a loud cracking sound and bounced off his skull.  the second one (days later) pierced his chest and knocked him back several feet.  the bow was at about 80 lbs of force.  he just broke the end of the arrow off and bolted out of there.  never saw him in my backyard again.
