*no spam please* Title: ip addy's Post by: FragMaster1972 on March 27, 2004, 05:33:13 AM well i know you can get ip spoofing programs, or go through proxy servers...
Title: ip addy's Post by: SS on March 27, 2004, 06:40:19 AM As Frag said, you need to use proxies. I'm fairly sure you can't actually choose your own IP.
Any particular reason why? :P Title: ip addy's Post by: Guest:xyph on March 27, 2004, 07:38:10 AM LOL i wanna play a mud i was banned from along time ago, i loved the mud, the admin was just an ass.
oki, heres a different question.. anyone know a mud / mush client that allows you to connect through a proxy? right now i use mush client, which dosent allow you to do such things. ~and yes, i'm to lazy to log in!~ Title: ip addy's Post by: RipperRoo on March 27, 2004, 03:28:33 PM My Blueyonder IP changes itself at a stupid rate.... changed 3 times in one week once...
Title: ip addy's Post by: SS on March 27, 2004, 07:43:56 PM Yeah, most ISPs will change your IP on a relatively frequent basis.
If you're on a broadband connection try disconnecting, waiting a few minutes, then re-connecting. Title: ip addy's Post by: evilknight on March 27, 2004, 10:00:07 PM yeah. i use roadrunner, and i reset it by unscrewing the cable, and disconnecting the power. i leave it connected to the computer, cause that doesnt make much of a difference i dont think.
Title: ip addy's Post by: Guest:Xyph on March 27, 2004, 11:01:54 PM hahaha you guys are talking about Server IP, i mean Client IP
Title: ip addy's Post by: SS on March 27, 2004, 11:05:11 PM Eh? Your IP is given by the server you connect to the Internet through.
If you reconnect to your ISP then most likely they will assign you a different IP address. (Unless you've signed up to a service which gives you a fixed one.) Title: ip addy's Post by: Guest:Xyph on March 27, 2004, 11:16:30 PM yea.. LOL you have 2 ip's 1. your Server IP when your connected to the net, and 2. your client ip, the ip of your machine
Title: ip addy's Post by: SS on March 27, 2004, 11:35:34 PM The local network one? Changing that wont help unless you're directly connected to the same network as the MUD and the hub/router supports you changing it.
Still: Click Start Select Settings>Network Connections>Local Area Connection Click Properties Select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" Click Properties Unless you're talking about your MAC address, which I'm fairly sure is hard-coded into the network card. Title: ip addy's Post by: evilknight on March 27, 2004, 11:35:57 PM well then, heres what you do:
1. find somebody with a computer just like yours. 2. steal it. Title: ip addy's Post by: RipperRoo on March 27, 2004, 11:42:12 PM Shouldnt that mean that IP bans are useless?
Title: ip addy's Post by: evilknight on March 27, 2004, 11:48:26 PM yes. yes they are. but they help the newbies sleep at night.
Title: ip addy's Post by: RipperRoo on March 27, 2004, 11:56:14 PM LOL, lies! I cant sleep at night!
Title: ip addy's Post by: SS on March 27, 2004, 11:58:12 PM That's because you're only a semi-newbie. :P
