31  The Great Alliance / The Great City / Farm? on: October 26, 2003, 02:25:41 AM

I think I have a relatively good farm  LOL , he is like tripple+ my size and has pretty low DA so I can attack him and he doesn't even take a point away from my weapons  Tongue

see.. low DA  Tongue ... I know that isn't much money compared to alot of you, but it kinda is for me  Cheesy
Oooh grrr I'm jealous. I'd love having a farm like that, and my SA is eight or nine times yours.

Other than raising you in the rankings I don't think its worth it. I have citadel and level ten as the only upgrades left. I started buying battle axes with the intent of upgrading but all the people I attack are unsabbable and I like having the high SA so no upgrade for now.
Thanks. :-)  One of the reasons I've thought so hard about doing this is that I've found a guy who looks to be an extremely good farm.  He's got well over 1200 men, he's humans, and up until tonight I could take him on.  His TBG is nearly 100,000 every half hour, and the entire day he purchased knives every hour (Ever single time I look at him he had less than 1,000 gold).  His DA jumped a huge amount, and now his DA and my SA are pretty much the same.  He's still sabbable, but close enough to being unsabbable that i can't get many level niners into his base to sabotage his weapons. :-)  I lost 13 spies this evening to him, and wasted 15 attack turns on him (he finally stopped buying those durned things).

I REALLY want to farm this guy, but it'll be hard without higher CA (I really have no good targets at all, despite my 1Mil+SA. and my frequent surfing and refusal to attack anyone with less than 400K), or without higher SA.

To get higher CA, I need to sacrifice my SA.  There's no way I can compete with him as far as weapon purchases go, though.  Should I give him up and try to find other targets? Smiley

No, the percentage is always calculated from the base amount.  And no, not too bad. Wink  I routinely attack people with  much higher upgrades than I have.

Yeah, citadel's still worth it, at some point.

If you're wanting to upgrade to Citadel, and you're going to pay for it by selling dragonskins, it's worth it once you have 372 dragonskins.  Just sell 31, purchase your citadel, and your DA will go from 13,094,400 to 13,094,400 (assuming, of course, that they're all manned by trained professionals Smiley).

SA = 13,094,400 = 2560 * 5 * 372 * (1 + 1.75)
after citadel:
SA = 13,094,400 = 2560 * 5 * 341 * (1 + 2.00)

Citadel costs 5,120,000 gold, right?

Hey.  I've worked long.  I've worked hard.  I've sweated, toiled, and labored.  I now have 48 Excaliburs.

That's just what is needed to purchase Level 10 covert.

But my question is, "Is it worth it?"  I'm already sabb-immune.  Level 10 would just let me sabotage more people (something that would come in handy), or more weapons of the same people (also something that would come in handy).  But other than that...

I guess I've also wondered what I can do with these 48 Excaliburs anyway.  Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY that has a lot of money, and who I'd like to attack has JUST more than I have in their DA.  It's REALLY getting on my nerves.  I'll sometimes even run a test attack (1 turn), win, repair, and attack again and get walloped (I think they have something in their equations for a)fatigue or b)surprise or c)both)

Anyways, I'm digressing.  *cough*  Should I sell my 48 Excaliburs, or should I keep building up my SA?

Without upgrades:

Code:
Weapon      Cost               Gold/SA
5                1000               40
10              1800               36
20              3200               32
40              5100               25.5
160           16400              20.5
640           52400             16.375
2560        167800             13.109

I'd never buy anything less than the 640 (Steed, if you're humans).  It's a tremendous waste of gold.
36  The Great Alliance / The Great City / Are Upgrades Worth the Gold on: October 23, 2003, 02:58:13 PM
Yes, they're worth the gold -- if you have enough weapons.

This is how it works:

SA = WeaponBase * 5 * NumberofWeapons * (1 + TotalUpgradePercent)

So, for 5 Excaliburs and no siege upgrades, it's:

64000 = 2560 * 5 * 5 * (1 + 0)

When you upgrade that the first time, it goes up to 80000 (a 25% increase).  But from here on, you have to calculate what your SA would be *without* upgrades before you can determine how much an upgrade will help you.  Example:

96000 = 2560 * 5 * 5 * (1 + .50)

That's not a 25% gain over 80000, that's a 50% gain over 64000, your base damage.

Therefore, since I now have 45 Excaliburs and Catapults for siege, the next upgrade will definitely be worth it for me:

1,152,000 = 2560 * 5 * 45 * (1 + 1.00)     <-- currently
1,296,000 = 2560 * 5 * 45 * (1 + 1.25)     <-- If I were to upgrade to Siege Towers
1,280,000 = 2560 * 5 * 50 * (1 + 1.00)     <-- If I were to purchase five more Excaliburs

Upgrading to Siege Towers costs 640,000 gold.  Buying five more Excaliburs costs 839,000.

I'll be getting more for my money if I upgrade before I buy more excaliburs.

Hope that helps!
Aran Taur

P.S.  Oh, and every trained soldier without a weapons adds 36 to your SA.  Every untrained soldier without a weapon adds 6 to your SA.  I assume that the same ratio applies to untrained soldiers with weapons, but I've never had them, so I wouldn't know. Cheesy

:huh: Umph.  And I thought my 800,000's were good. Smiley

What I need is some help finding good farms.  I have an SA of 1,100,000, and I'd really like to use it efficiently.  What's odd is that the guy I stole the most money from tonight also had the smallest defense: less than 5,000.
38  The Great Alliance / The Great City / What's your rank? on: October 23, 2003, 02:15:42 AM
Woohoo rock on!

I took advantage of KOC's downtime by immediately attacking everyone and everybody with money and even though somebody nabbed me before I could spend it all (they turned the armoury off, but still let you attack) and stole 700+K, I now have 16 more Excals, taking me from 27 to 43, and now ranked in the top 3800 for SA.  Just wish it'd take me back up to 550 (my personal record).

Anybody else have success stories?  Cheesy
39  The Great Alliance / The Great City / What's your rank? on: October 20, 2003, 04:13:27 PM
44,000 now.  But my SA is ranked 11,000 and my CA is ranked < 2,500.

I wanted to make an end to this and called in the help of TGA. thx to you guys who made him stop doing this. he stopped. and a few days later I was able to upgrade my spy level. I directly wanted to test it and instead of testing it on a random orc, I decided to try it on arantor who has sabbed a lot of dragon skins. I failed to spy him and and didn't do anything else.
If I could I would have sabotaged him (what would you guys do if you were in my shoes? wouldn't you want some personal revenge on someone who has sabbed so much of you hard-earned dragon skins).

Most definitely.  I had some idiot sabotage 27 Excaliburs :blink:, and I'm kicking myself daily that I didn't save his username. <_< I REALLY want to cream him now that I'm nearly rebuilt and am sab-immune.

but after that we started sending messages to eachother.
I kinda found out that arrantor isn't such a ******* afteral. accually... he's a nice dude.

Thank you!  :cool:  *bows*

This I don't understand: since we started messaging we became more like friends than enemy's. and now he almost posts a attack request in our forum. do I misunderstand this or.... ??

I'm verry confuses........

I was just playing around.  I don't think there was a chance anybody'd say yes.  Auron least of all, and he seems to be one of the few who wanted to stop.

Nothing, in my book!  You weren't the one sabotaging me, and I knew that.  And you were very patient ("This is my last warning to stop your attacks. Stop attacking me now and you will not be harmed" -- My version of that message would have been something along the lines of "so long, sucker").

So, guys, everything's fine between Robke and me.  The spy mission was a surprise, but easily passed over. Cheesy

Now, as for whiteknight...*cough*  just kidding.

Right now...I think I have about 60 attack turns.  I rarely ever get many...the most I ever got was just a little over 100, and MAN was it fun spending those.  I think I got six excals that day, and I started with just a steed...

And I *try* <_< to resist the temptation to attack unless my target has over 300K gold.

Too bad people don't know how honored they are to be attacked by me...
