Title: Werewolf: The Apocalypse
Post by: Filran on February 23, 2004, 03:11:31 AM
As some know and do not know, I have the basic W:tA book, along with the final book in its series. Eventually, I'm going to actually do some games with other people, but it will take a while. I'm currently doing a game with two of my friends, and that game is a 3 person game. Me - Mar - Lynn. Eventually as I get better, I'm going to force you people to play a game with me so I can just be the Story Teller.

Edit: 100th topic.

Well, I just specifically wanted you on there, because I think you'd have a hoot. I'll probably do a maximum of 5 players, if I don't play, possibly 6, maybe 7 at most. I'm letting anyone really join in, just they have to RP. xD

There will be no out RPing. You gotta remeber, I'll be the foo in charge. But anyway, the premise of Werewolf is, well, you are a werewolf. Werewolves are Gaia's champions, her protectors, her warriors. Depending on the game I'm running, I may send you into the hearts of cities, to the edges of the world, to diffrent realms, into the vast wilderness, or immerse you into Garou society... and all the while the threat of the Wyrm and the Apocalypse hangs over your heads.

Ah, in my current game, we are about to finish out second story. It didn't go as a planed, and everything god mucked up. I was originally thinking vampires, but the fourth friend who jumped in kinda pulled it away from all that. My character manages to get them clothing, and Bronze's character (The New Guy) runs out into the busy city street without looking. I say a car zooms at him. He attempts to jump, land on its hood, spring from there onto another car, then to the other side. I stick it at difficulty 9 or 10, can't remeber. He fails and botches, so instead gets distracted by a friend throwing a pebble. The car slams into him, he rolls across the hood, smashes into the windsheild, pops into the air, then crashes on the ground. (Note: the driver was talking on a cell phone, AND drinking coffee) The driver crashes into another car, and so on for a few minutes and everyone else is just going o_o' My character drags his out of the street, and then says: Heal yourself. I wanna see my damn movie.

And he lays there for 20 minutes, before Benny (Me) screams at him to go Crinos. He goes Crinos, and tears his clothing. He then desides to go Lupus and walk down the street like that. I desided to have a passerby see the 'dog' and call animal control in fear he may hurt someone. Animal Control comes, and sees it is a wolf. So they try to get Bronze, and take him away to the city to a forest a bit upstate.

The players attack the Animal Control guys. The passerby with the phone then calls the police. They resist arrest, and my character gets his shoulder shot to hell cause he couldn't move out of the way in time. Both animal control guys are hurt. The police take away Dancer and Stalk, who are in homid, and drag along their 'pet' just to get it over with.

In the mean time, Benny is taken to the hospital and drops out of the story for the time being. They get interveiwed, and have a hard time since none of them no english. Dancer knows some, so she names herself Georgia. Stalk proceeds to just try and eat the pen and scribble on one of the men's papers. Bronze eventually starts howling, and it drives the people mad, and they boot them out on probation.

They then deside to try and find their alpha. Dancer draws a horrible doodle of an 'Amukalnce' and shows it to a lady who points in various directions. Dancer then claims to be dying, and she points to the closest hospital. They go there, and find nothing. In the mean time, Bronze starts howling, and a hobo tosses a rock at him. He growls at the hobo, and the hobo growls back and tosses a rock at him.

The other two come out, and then Dancer gives the hobo the middle finger, and curses at him in Garou. Hobo curses back in Garou, and the players figure out that he is a Bone Gnawer, named Hits-wit-Spoon. They get some help from him on how to find their alpha, and they go on the way; not after Hits-wit-Spoon having lightly foreshadowed about Pentex and DNA. They find the hospital where Benny was taken, and the sign there reads: Clearwater Hospital, a branch of DNA or something similar. They panic, and try to get in. xD We're gunna finish the story tomorrow, and I'm going to launch into another one.

Well, if I can get a Bastet book, or find an online website, we could play a bastet game, which is werecats.

And Seeker, if you wanted, I could look up how to design a kinfolk character. Then, you aren't really Garou, but human. You're just related to Garou, though it would be harder on you. You'd be much more mundane. Only a few Kinfolk manage to get any gifts from the spirits.

i'm the batty vampire-type...

although to RP... i'm not sure if i'll go female or male...

bah, female. XD

but dunno if i can stay concentrated.

Yeah, but I don't have any of the Vampire books. x.x And Garou + Vampire = HISS *EET YOU. >:OOOO*

But, alright, we have a possible SS, possible Gandalf, Evilknight, if no one else pops on, me, and hopefully someone else? D:

Yes. But think of it this way: Your pack loves you more than anyone else. And, I read you CAN learn gifts, it just takes a bit longer. But then again, you have the advantage of not being shunned from humanity. People just sometimes think you are a bit odd.

Title: Werewolf: The Apocalypse
Post by: Filran on March 06, 2004, 09:43:07 PM
Its not. You won't be constantly going: RANGVSDKFSDG I EET YOU.

Those are Black Spiral Dancers, and non-playable by you people. You'll be playing one of the 12 tribes in the Garou Nation, and only on permission can anyone play the Stargazers.

Each tribe has its own beliefs, skills, looks, and homelands.

The tribes are...

The Black Furies: In a nutshell, they are a tribe of women only. Warrior women.

Bone Gnawers: In a nutshell, they are the hobos, the poor, the down on their luck you see in towns and cities.

Children of Gaia: In a nutshell, they are the peaceable tribe. They wish to stop the arguements between the tribes, and try and heal the wrongs that have been done.

Fianna: In a nutshell, they are a tribe that loves songs, stories, parties, and they are often stereotyped as loud, boisterous drunks.

Get of Fenris: In a nutshell, they are an entirely martial tribe. Even the non-warrior auspices are feirce in battle.

Glass Walkers: In a nutshell, they are the elite of the technological era. They are often hackers, important buisnessmen, and often have alot of money. But there is nothing technological they can't do.

Red Talons: In a nutshell, they are a tribe made entirely of Lupus breed Garou. They have a feirce hatred of humans, and often say that the Garou should go back to keeping humanities numbers in check.

Shadow Lords: In a nutshell, they are the betas in the ranks of the tribes. They are often stereotyped as tricky, sneaky, and often betraying. They just want to be in charge, and often have many dubious allies.

Silent Striders: In a nutshell, they are a cursed tribe. Originally hailing for Egypt, they can no longer step into its lands and feel comfortable. They are often seen as heralds, and messangers, and other Garou do not often like their coming, since they often bring bad news.

Silver Fangs: In a nutshell, they are the most nobel of the tribes. They are the leaders, and they are often an inspiration to other Garou. They keep track of their pedigrees, and almost all Silver Fangs are related. This close breeding has made them slightly deranged.

Uktena: In a nutshell, they are the world beat. They were originally native american only, but as time went by, they bred outside of the native american lines. They often get involved with mysticism.

Wendigo: In a nutshell, they are native american only. They are feirce, and do not like most tribes, because they seem weak. They are often very strong warriors, and they serve a cannibalistic spirit.

Stargazers: A tribe from east asia, obsessed with gaining enlightenment. They have suffered heavy losses, and left the Garou nation.

I'll show the message board with the more detailed thing in a bit. I'm trying to get SS's attention. >:O

Title: Werewolf: The Apocalypse
Post by: SS on March 06, 2004, 09:59:46 PM
There's a lot of nutshells there.

Title: Werewolf: The Apocalypse
Post by: Filran on March 06, 2004, 10:03:13 PM
I like nutshells. :) But I just kept thinking that. See, those are like races. Classes are the auspices.

New moon is Ragabash; The Trickster.
Cresent moon is Theurge; The Seer/Spirit Speaker.
Half moon is Philodox; The Judge.
Gibbous moon is  Galliard; The Moon Dancer/Bard/Historian.
Full moon is Ahroun; The Warrior.

And then you get three breeds.

Homid: Born as a human, raised as a human.
Metis: Born from two Garou, raised as an outcast in Garou society.
Lupus: Born as a wolf, raised as a wolf.

So you can get alot of combos. 195 to be exact including Stargazers.

A fetish is a valued item with some sort of power in it. It might be an extra damage point. A + to your strength, stuff like that. Not sexual fetish.

Update: Just bought Player's Guide to Garou, and Book of Auspices. I'm not following much of the metaplot, I'm just trying to get everything I can for my players. Every so often meta-plot might leak in.
